The representatives of the many different factions are milling around chatting to each other, suddenly they hear a noise like someone scraping a blackboard which they realise is Sergeant Dancer clearing his throat (Due to the fact that he is a Noxesian Insect being the size of a human he understandably has some vocal trouble speaking in Universal Language) He starts to speak:
"HnnGreetinges eeveryoon, yoou havve beeen caalled heere tooday beecause wee haave expeerienced troouble wiith thee coompyouuter iin thiis faaciiliitiiy, iif yoou woould aall pleease fooloow mee II wiil leead yoou too thee soourcce oof thee troouble"
He leads the delegates down a corridor with bulkhead doors at periodic intervals along the length, the group eventually reach a bulkhead door that has closed across the passage, it appears to be slightly shiny, through the small viewing port the party can see a Krekovian native, a Hospitaliers Inspector who they are told is Inspector Praxis Glenn, A thing that looks like an office printer with multiple mechanical appendages sprouting from the top which the engineer Helberg Van Troff (@Gladiaxa ) recognises as an A.D.R.I.A.N unit (A type of explorer robot), and The Offworlder leader Hexer And his bodyguard Glitcher, unit 66 (Both @DocSlime ). Sergeant Dancer adresses the party: (I will dispense with his accent from now on as it is getting a liittlee aanooyiing too tyypee liikee thiis but can everyone imagine he is still speaking like that)
Sergeant Dancer: "our problem, gentlemen, is this: those men have been trapped in that section by a rogue AI whose control room is not at the moment accessible to us, in a normal situation we could simply cut through this door but as you can see it is covered by a stasis field which produces that glimmering effect, as i will demonstrate shortly nothing can penetrate a stasis field as it does not technically exist as we persist existance, it is merely a barrier which protects that bulkhead from outside time, inside that field, time does not technically exist, therefore anything from outside the field that tries to enter it will be crushed down to the size of the first atom that enters the field, i therefore do not recommend you touch it. at all."
to demonstrate he takes a diamond-tipped drill piece out of one of the pockets of his ecosuit and throws it at the field, it dissapears.
"Gentlemen, do you have a solution to thi-"
Suddenly another bulkhead slams down behind the party, trapping them in this section as well, (There is no way to FTL or teleport or likewise past a stasis field and the outside of the whole facility is now encased in one, please do not attempt to get past a stasis field at any point in this adventure as your character WILL DIE, i mean it, Science! 😉 ) the bulkhead between the party and Hexer's group slides up and the stasis field disengages, they can now talk to each other, the bulkhead in front of the party that leads deeper into the facility is not protected by a stasis field however and the party see that this is because someone destroyed the stasis circuit on the door before it could engage, there is also a hole in this door through which the party can see a vast cave-like chamber beyond, lighted harshly by industrial strip-lighting in the ceiling.
