How to decrease lag?

I want to know how to decrease my lag... without making my ship smaller.. (such as this ship for example)

I really do not want to make it smaller.. how else can I decrease lag?
(I tried to limit the number of crew and put holes in the craft..)

I have already messed with the settings.. everything is as low as possible (No animated backgrounds, no fancy particles etc..)

play with the settings. I heard that mods also drastically slow the game, although i'm not sure if that's been confirmed

FangTheCat Go to windowed mode and make the window smaller. That usually gives me around 5000+ frames on title screen.

FangTheCat do you have the fps turned on? If you do, make a limit of 200. Sometimes if you have too many ships in your ship library, it lags the game.

I doubt that.. As the lag only starts when placing a ship (Usually any ship that is large and uses Abh)
but that is easily possible..

FangTheCat yea... Maybe because the ship i really big and using modded weapons?

for all those who has PC with enabled HyperThreading (has more logistic CPU then phisical). and have 2 or more phisical cores in CPU
1. go to TaskManager
2. open the details tab
3. find the Cosmoteer.exe(game must be opened)
4.rightClick on it and select Set Affinity
5. uncheck all and slect like 0-2-4-6-8-10 ......
6.save

in my case with my i7 7700hq the performance rised on 35-40%
