How do you name the ship? (Ship Classes)

I wonder how they make the ship classes, like

Sovereign Class
Oddsey CLass
Ripstorm Class
Blackslice Class
etc.

Rifqi_Fajar_Zain I use sometimes "UG-50F (Fighter) Reaper" or "NCSF (Strike Fighter) Archibald". I sometimes name the ship first, like "Judge-Class" and put what it is, like "Judge-Class Star Destroyer". And sometimes I just name it whatever the hell I want.

well.. I use (previously three, now four) classes..

Luna Class (Fighters)
Eclipse Class (Larger than fighters, but usually still kinda small)
Umbra Class (Larger ships, usually smaller battleships and carriers)
Nova Class (Largest of my ships, usually Very powerful..)
Guardian (Isn't usually used.. only eight ships of mine have this class, they look cool and have medium fighting capabilities..)

I just base my classifications on real naval classes and each of their irl aproximate lengths. I also classify based on weapon loadout
