The Cargo Carriers had strong sheilding and tons of flak, while the battleships had plasma cannons, The Heavy fighters built to rip fighters to shreds, and the swarm fighters as cannon fodder

(PS: The battleships also have Ion lasers and the little emp guns)

The ships all took positions, as the large ships had tons of sheilding, leaving the question of how they can fit so many sheilds in the smaller ships with the amount of crew it would take to run them...

the_guy545 It just has a MASSIVE thruster about a third of the planet's size attached to it. The Thruster Complex in Construct does resemble a spaceship in closed areas meant for manual repairs if the need arises.

The ships are fast enough to chase down the planet. The Citadel is on the other side of it, however, and the Foundry is protected by a relatively thin layer of lead embedded below the ground. The fighters scatter some shots at a city, but as it was near the Thrust Complex, most population was simply crushed by the sudden thrust. Some looters remain, and fighters manage to take one looter down by a direct hit when the planet accelerates to the point where the fighters can't go any faster than the planet.

EpicJp21 It's much easier to destroy a flying planet than a stationary one. Just destroy destroy the thrusters and it will go on forever until it eventually hits a sun/planet/blackhole etc.
