I have a few ideas for this game. Now, lets just get right to the point.
Bases for Bounty Hunter Mode!
One word to summarize this; Headquarters. The player could be able to create one base in each solar system, where it gets you money every jump or so. You can set up docking spaces to hold your ships to keep them safe. You can also teleport to these bases, but they also pose a new threat; RAIDS! Barbarian-type enemies can attack these bases and steal some stuff, like money, crew, and even your ships! Now that we have that out of the way, next topic;
Mother Nature Attacks!
Or, in other words, you can be attacked by biological things, like solar flares, asteroids, and even... the flu? Solar flares will set your ship on fire if there is a hole in your ship, otherwise just doing damage to one or two parts. Asteroids can spawn moving at different speeds. (The physics system now is gonna cooperate with this one) Depending on the force that it hits, it does damage. If its going at the speed of light somehow, you can guarantee your ship is gonna be wreckage! Now, the sickness. Your crewmates can get sick and end up working at a slower pace, or there's even a small chance they will DIE! This happens fairly rarely, so don't expect to see sluggish, pale crewmates walking around at the start of the game. Now, to the third thing!
Teleporters!
"Beam me up, Scotty!" This corresponds with the bases idea, but it doesn't have to be added; your choice, Walt! You can teleport to your bases without consuming fuel. This adds a new room to your array of choices for your ship builder tool; Crew Teleporting Stations! You can use these to send your men into other ships, either yours or enemy! If you send them to your ships, they will still use the beds on the ship they were originally on, useful in battle if you have to send troops onto your ships so you can use your missiles again! Now, when you teleport your crew to an enemy ship, they will FIGHT them TO THE DEATH, unless called back. If there is no crew members in the room, they will shut down the systems. The dueling system is explained below.
Hand to Hand Combat!
Your crew will use their hard, strong knuckles to beat some fear into their enemies! Crewmates do varying damage, so it isn't clear who wins the fight. This was a short one, but I really don't have many ideas for this.
Nuclear Warheads, Kamikaze Ships, and EXPLOSIONS!
Viva la revolucion!
- Captain Larry as he rammed his ship into the other, detonating the warhead right before their ship was terminated.
Oh no, one of your highly valued ships is about to explode! Can you refund it? No. Can you repair it? No. Can you make it hug the enemy as it explodes into a blaze of glory, either destroying them or doing high damage? YES. You can ram into the enemies to do small amounts of damage, but who wants that? You can attach NUCLEAR WARHEADS to your ships. You heard that right. On death, these warheads will explode, damaging everything in its radius, including friendly ships, doing legendary amounts of damage!
And finally...
Core Cannons.
You see that? There is no exclamation point because this thing is serious. You use the thing that powers your ship as dangerous ammunition. The core does as much damage as it would in your ship if destroyed, except, when in impact with anything, it explodes. Due to the electric charge it gains, when it hits, all nearby systems are fried. Doors are locked shut, leaving crew members either trapped, unable to supply things, or both. Enemy crew too close to the blast get cooked from the inside. They die instantly.
Still not the most effective though, considering you have to buy the ammo.
