A Blessing From the Sky
A raging snowstorm shrouded the terrain while a party of seven went on their grueling journey across the plains, in hopes of finding something in this unforgiving weather. Although not much could be seen, one could tell that they traversed the trail in a bipedal manner. Someone had been illuminating the path with a lantern attached to the top of his walking stick.
And he happened to stumble over something
Regaining balance, he and the others scraped away at the snow over the peculiar object, revealing a capsule of some sort. Upon further inspection, it appeared to have a handle. Using their collective might, the seven had pried a lid off of it...
Within the capsule lay an assortment of devices and a single hardcover journal. While the devices were intriguing to them, the party was more interested in the journal. After gently dusting its cover with his gloved hands that resembled the paws of a wolf, the leader turned to first page. Its musty scent was something completely new to him. The page's contents had partially faded away with time, but were still comprehensible. There was something that puzzled him, however.
A large illustration of a frozen planet, along with several moons, had covered most of the page. He carefully examined its details, including labels written in an arcane language aka english, important landmarks, and planned locations for edifices across the planet. He was perplexed.
What could all of this mean?
He almost immediately shared his findings with the others, but none of them truly knew what these symbols meant. They had come up with several theories, one of which they could all agree on; someone was trying to tell them something.
And there began their search for knowledge, which would eventually bring rise to the first kingdom of Lothelia...
