Ten new fleets planned
Is the admiralty preparing for war?
Or is it just another defensive posture?
Ten new full size fleet plans have been unveiled by the navy today.
Currently, Three fleets have been completely constructed.
Apparently, plans for this go back weeks, if not months.
These new full sized fleets will be supported by six new floatillas, the second largest fleetsize.
This drastically increases the amount of ships in service, by around three times the amount currently in service.
The ships are being constructed mainly around the shipyards of [REDACTED] and other independent shipyards.
These ships are constructed in pieces in a modular fashion, and put together quickly at whatever shipyard the bridge module is being launched from.
This, coupled with heavy automation, makes the construction of a single ship last merely a few days per shipyard.
Overall, although the navy wishes not to disclose the exact number, per day around 2 capitals are made alongside 4 smaller, but still capital class, ships.
The overall upkeep for these ships is sure to place more taxes on numerous things, however due to the recent advancements in civil spaceflight and affordable civilian ships, it is unlikely to be noticed by many.
Interestingly, the navy has shifted its focus away from the "every ship is a carrier" doctrine, and now instead has opted for singular, large carriers and carrier modules to do this job. This actually will increase the employment opportunities for new pilots. However this may be at odds with the complaints of low hazard pay for fighter pilots, especially with ejector seats on Maybug's being notoriously bad.
Overall, it may seem the space navy is shifting to a more fleet based doctrine.
