How can a complete amateur start making mods?

I am a complete amateur in coding, modding, drawing sprites and everything else, and i really want to make a mod

Is there any detailed guides on how to make mods(what parameter means what and else)?

Al1ce Well, I recommend you look in the example mods to get started, so you can learn the basic syntax for modding. Unfortunately, many guides to modding are poorly kept, so I would recommend you have had come from a modding background for other games. Sorry about that.

@Al1ce Modding can be done with inbuilt software, but I could recommend a couple of free apps:
- Notepad ++: This is basically notepad, on steroids. It will make reading code so much easier, and you will never know how you had lived without it!
- Paint.net: This is basically paint, on steroids. It will make drawing sprites so much easier, and you will never know how you lived without it!
- Windows File Explorer: Yeah, explorer won’t be out of buisness yet...

jbox1 Well, I made a mod, and it is not conficting with anything, but it doesn't add anything(it is supposed to add an armor block)

My advice is to open up the game's Data folder, look through the .txt files in there, and just start experimenting and changing values. Try simple things at first, like changing how much damage a weapon does, and then try more complicated things when you get bored changing simple values. You'll slowly get a feel for how the game is structured. Once you're comfortable with how the game data is structured, then you can actually make a proper "mod" (with a mod.txt file) that you can give to other players.

all my mods are old and outdated and I'm a little rusty from not modding for a long time, but when 0.14.0 comes out I will try to make a good tutorial explaining how to mod 🙂
