Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Superweapons
AKA Superweapon Nonproliferation Treaty (SPT)
The United Galaxies has decided to create a Treaty concerning the use of "superweapons." According to definition, such a weapon is known as a weapon of mass destruction, or "a weapon that can cause widespread destruction or kill large numbers of people, especially a nuclear, chemical, or biological weapon." In other words, it is a weapon that is used to cause large-scale death and destruction, without being an NBC weapon. As did the United Nations back on Earth did on July 1st, 1968, over 190 parties signed a treaty known as the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, commonly known as the Non-Proliferation Treaty or NPT, therefore condemning the use and spread of nuclear weapons. In this case, we are working on the same principle, but with the focus on superweapons. In signing this "Superweapon Nonproliferation Treaty" (SPT), you are therefore stating that your faction/organization will ban the use and development of superweapons. This is entirely voluntary, but once you sign it, you cannot take it back. Your faction/organization must also disarm any super weapon currently in your inventory, so it may never be used to induce harm on a massive galactic scale.
The terms of the treaty:
- In signing this "Superweapon Nonproliferation Treaty" (SPT), you are therefore stating that your faction/organization will ban the use and development of superweapons.
- Your faction/organization must also disarm any super weapon currently in your inventory, so it may never be used to induce harm on a massive galactic scale.
- After disarming and disposing any super weapon in your inventory, you may continue running your faction, but just without the use of superweapons.
- The violating any of these will kick you out of the treaty, and may be persecuted.
