jbox1 Well, we did not have any real guns, firepower, or battle-capable ships over there, and since the system has been quarantined we cannot send hundreds of men aboard battleships into danger, so we use what we have.

An update on the recent events:
The Drill unit 27 (which had just been delivered (TheUnleashedPiraat ), and thus had not yet been crewed with scavangers, but still had TA crew) speedily made it's way towards the dreadnought.
The ship was taking a lot of damage, but the main systems were still online and the drill fucntional. When they reached the Dreadnought they started drilling into the side. While durasteel is super strong, it is no match for a 10m wide drill from ASAP's.
They had cut the ship in half! But it was so big, it was still working!
The captain ordered all the crew to abandon ship, as he was going to drill deeper into the dreadnaught and destroy the main systems. This was a mission with no return.
The Drill unit self-destructed, which caused a chain reaction on the Dreadnought. All it's major systems were either critical, failing or destroyed. The Dreadnought was defeated.
