---- The New Scavangers ---
The third installment of a series of great factions
LORE
Notes:
Before you start reading, most of the Lore of the Scavangers is irrelevant. Many factions these days are far too serious, and over powered, but remember that the Scavangers are not, and never have been, like any other factions. They’re goals are simple, and I am ok with the idea of them falling once again. On that same note, any actions taken, for or against, the Scavangers must also be done respectfully and with reason. I hope the Scavangers can serve as a new hope for faction role play, setting a new norm for realistic, fun and proper faction roleplay.
Believe it of not, the Scavangers were once an actual faction. The first half of the story here wasn’t even heard until after the demise of the Scavangers, because it wasn’t needed. They lived by having the roleplay of the community defining them not them defining the community. In fact, I only made the Scavangers as an excuse for Drakador_Caos to have somebody for him to give the beetle too. Pretty amazing eh? Well, considering half of you came in much long after the Scavangers, this raps up everything.
Anyway, this lore here is generated by me, until I reach the stuff genrated on the forum through roleplay.
The Miner-Scavengers, the First Scavangers
During the year 2200, the terran mining industries were booming. Huge companies mined out regions of space, bringing back hyper-refined minerals expanding humanities reach across the solar system. However, things were not peaceful. Land was furiously fought over for the right to reap the materials found there. As these wars were fought, a minority of miners scavengers, collected debris and dysfunctional ships for their own uses. As needless materials were wasted in these wars, the mining factions weakened, the miner-scavengers grew stronger.
A Trading Empire
By the year 2300, the miner scavengers named themselves the Scavangers. Now they controlled the asteroid belts, and soon opened hundreds of trading ports across the solar system. As trade bustled, the Scavangers had made a name for themselves. Soon they dominated their sector. However, with fame came attention. The Scavangers were famous for their giant supply of FTL fuel.
The Blackout
One day, a Bloodcult member decided that he wanted to spread the cult into a galaxy far away. The high council at that time denied his venture, and did not supply a ship. Instead, the member decided he would take action himself. He boarded a Scavanger freighter as a stowaway. A few FTL jumps latter and he had infiltrated the Scavanger’s main trading outpost. Somehow, he made it into the main Scavanger vault, loaded a ship with all the FTL pellets, and hightailed it, to never be seen again. With that much fuel, it was impossible to track him down. He was never seen again. The Scavangers, without their FTL fuel were forgotten by the industry, and another company overtook the role that once only a Scavanger could fulfill.
And so began the Scavanger’s faction on the forums. All the following Lore is generated through roleplay.
The Scavangers
The Scavangers were a small band of scavengers, lead by Chain, and his followers. However, as chance would have it, a Bloodcult member, going by the name of “warlord”, offered them a mothership, and a moon in their territory, in exchange for one of their ships. The ship that was exchanged was a Beetle MK 3, which the Scavangers had acquired from [REDACTED] in exchange for [REDACTED] from the planet [REDACTED]. However, once in possession of the new ship, the Scavangers realised their roots, traders leading huge empires, and so decided to use their ship to begin trading across the galaxy once more. Over time, more and more factions ordered from the Scavangers, sold with the Scavangers. Tim, head of communication handled hundreds of requests a day. The Scavangers serviced a galactic market of supplies, with the help of Rust, head of development. Huge freighters carried anything from groceries to minerals to the famous Scavangers Grade Poking Sticks, designed and built by the famous Scavanger engineer Jack. The Scavangers supplied the warfronts of the KOL and the Bloodcult, they battled [REDACTED] from a strange universe, and discovered a race of sentient drones from the planet [REDACTED], now today known simply as "The Drones" faction. Life was perfect until...
...Cosmolord.
The Fall of a Faction
It was like any day for the Scavangers, trading, mining, turning down the insane requests of Greenfire. But then, Tim picked up a rouge communication from one who call's himself "Apollo" @moddedwarfare . Apollo stated that a ruler, calling himself "Cosmolord" is advancing on the Scavangers, comming to take over their land. Most of the Scavangers didn't believe him, until they saw the images of the decemated ships of a Scavanger fleet. Not only that, but a few survivors were now infected by Cosmolord. Cosmolord isn't just an insane ruler, he can also infect ships.
Cosmolord made slow advancements. Many factions offered small support for the Scavangers. Chain ordered attacks against Cosmolord, trying to slow him down, but ultimately it just makes him more powerful. Eventually, Chain realised all he could do was wait for the end... but maybe there was a small hope for the Scavangers?
It was the last day before the demise of the Scavangers. All freighters were called in, to defend the mothership. Cosmolord sent his army to attack the Scavangers, to finish them off. The battle lasted hours. Cosmolord advanced towards the mothership, meter by meter, and at 9:45 UT, the mothership's hull was breached. Many Scavangers were lost as Cosmolord mercilessly ended the innocent lives of so many simply to gain a small amount of territory.
R.I.P CHAIN: died controlling troops in the last battle
R.I.P TIM: died fighting aboard a "Pew Pew", his favourite craft
R.I.P RUST: Captured and ransomed by Greenfire @ . His location is unknown, presumed dead.
R.I.P JACK: Died manning a missile launcher.
The Lightning Union
However, Chain, knowing his end would come, launched escape pods carrying the 4 most elite Scavangers at his disposal. The team piloted the escape pod to outlaw territory, and from there, they have started there covert mission. They called themselves the Lightning Union. The Lightning Union stayed low, performing small missions to advance toward's there goal. They ravaged Green-Fire for it's war crimes, and made small contact with The Drone's faction. Under there cover, they gained a band of engineers to build and pilot a fleet of Lighting ships. Now, the Lightning Union had ammased the supplies for their new target. It was time for operation Delta Base. Their new operations have been highly militarized, promising a level of security almost unheard of by the Scavangers.
And now comes the New Scavangers! Any actions taken to the Scavangers will merely grow this story, but the Scavanger legacy will live on!

ASSETS
Delta Base (fully operational, self sustaining)
Delta base was originally built during the days of the Old Scavangers, as a doomsday bunker. It is fully kited with workshops, living quarters, defense mechanisms and many other parts. It is fully self contained, and could function entirely independently if needed. Due to the planet it is built on lacking an atmosphere, it has it's own ventilation systems to compensate. It has been re-purposed as ground zero for many Scavenger operations. It is also boasts very tough security measures, meaning entrance without permission is near impossible. Many wares are also stored at delta base, as well as the equipment to manufacture them. It has since been drastically expanded, from its original 500 personal capacity, up to over 3000.*
Delta City (fully operational)
Delta City is basically the expansion from delta base to house many more occupants. Most of Delta City is above ground, and is dotted with landing pads, biodomes, hangers, stores, buildings and otherwise.
The Hydroponic Farms (fully operational)
A notable feature which can be seen even from space is a large patch of the otherwise rocky land near Delta Base is green. This feature is the Scavangers own mass farm. It uses water recycled from Delta City (which is why anyone caught dumping contaminants down the toilets is fined heavily) to grow many forms of crops, and is also used to naturally recirculate the atmosphere from Delta City.
Scavanger Orbital Trade Hub (fully operational)
Many visitors to the Scavangers will encounter the orbital trade hub. The trade hub is tethered to a space elevator which directly links it to Delta Base to carry goods to and from it. It also has plenty of floor space for storage, shops, businesses and other utilities, and can take a huge amount of space traffic thanks to the sheer number of docking bays. It sees a lot of buisness daily.
