"The Raid is, effectively, a raid on the Construct, a miraculous land built by an ancient god in hopes of advancing Offworld's civilization but made obsolete quite soon. In the Raid, you may find glorious rewards such as tons of materials, ship parts, unique gear and of course, the thrill of battle!"
"The Raid consists of three parts. First, BOX will present you a map of the suggested route. You may reroll the route free of charge the first time, with 10, 40, 90 and so on credits for every next reroll. The map will indicate, among others: roads, corridors, treasure rooms, expected combats, severe terrain deformities e.g. mountains, and the final boss fight with the final treasure room if applicable. Participation is free of charge, however, in the case of your death, all gear and Metal Chunks you find will be deposited in Offworld storage."
"Explanations:
Road: a HL-barrier protected road, commonly from asphalt, nutritious grass-covered soil or other easily walkable material with minor deformities such as hills. Outside of Roads, roaming parties or single bandit droids move about, outgearing the current level of advancement severely. Enemies you encounter on the road are weaker, but you are less likely to find something of value on roads. Remember that the barriers are one-way, and once you leave the road for loot outside, you'll have to walk for a bit to find a guarded entrance. There are a total of 3 such per route.
Treasure room: a room, guarded or not, with valuable items such as materials or ship parts teleportable directly to your ship or storage, and fully usable gear. Gear you find on dead enemies, as well as their dead corpses, dissipates upon leaving the planet. Normally, guarded treasure rooms appear outside of roads and yield much greater rewards.
Corridor: self-explanatory. Contains quite a few doors which may lead into just about anything.
Merchants are neutral droids that will sell permanent gear for Metal Chunks, a currency which dissipates outside of the Construct. If you are seen brandishing a weapon near them, they will hold you at gunpoint until you holster it, but will never engage first. Merchants usually outgear the current progression level by far.
Buildings are gigantic lootboxes ready to be scavenged, only encountered further from the roads. Normally they have from 5 to 15 floors and often serve as living space or barracks for hostile droids.
Indicators:
HP: health coefficient. Determines amount of dmg required to kill the target. May hold a prefix which gives weaknesses and/or benefits, such as machinery taking more damage from electric discharges and armor-piercing shots, while taking little to no damage from bio sources.
AHP: durability of armor. Armor in the Construct absorbs a percentage of incoming damage. If AHP runs out, the armor breaks beyond repair. Broken armor or heavily damaged armor cannot be sold.
AC: armor coverage. Determines the percentage of damage armor absorbs, redirecting the damage to itself from your HP.
Many weapons can inflict status effects, or deal special damage. Here are some most common ones. BOX will automatically telepathically answer your questions if a status is to be discovered. Common statuses are: ignition, knockdown, freeze stacks, shock stacks, poison stacks, debilitation, disarmament. Stack-based statuses increase in severity every time respective special damage is applied. Ignition, for example, persists until cured by rolling or dying."
"Now, please gear up, and you'll have 14 hours to get ready for the Raid, as BOX noticed your lack of armor or weaponry. If you possess none of any of these two, calmly ask BOX to fabricate one for every party member. BOX notices two members, and difficulty will be decreased by 33% as so. Glitcher-type androids are prohibited in the Construct, as well as magnetic or hardlight weaponry or armor. Plasma weaponry will increase the difficulty level exponentially. Note that the rewards scale with difficulty as well. BOX will attempt a scan once both of you equip at least one, preferably two weapons each and armor. It is encouraged to do so immediately so BOX may issue a route construction ASAP."
