Walt You do not need new weapons, you need new winning conditions, how can kiter defend its home planes while is kiting? For example.
This is way to balance differnet types of ships.
And about strenght of missiles, they are OP, because thay are weapons which always win, thay cannot be stoped forever and there is no other weapon with same range. and weapon which cannot reach enemy is completelly worthles no matter how much it originally cost.
Soo, making missile mor powerful (becase now they pass more frequently, no matter how much damage they do) is making game more boring, due to people who maybe claim that it is bigger fun to punch each other, but in reality everyone wants to win. And honestly you can be sure, that in fights I do any minimal damage to enemy by missiles while keepeng away from him,and then Ill be flying around the map to avoid any opponent counter action till the time get up and I win even by 1$ damage.
BTW: About balancing - I find nice way how to stack 30 shields in way of enemy fire (AI control of course) to efectively fight agains walls, but then came just two weapons and they put down all shields in few seconds, im not sure what to feel when I saw that all 360 000 defensive points in shields have been put down so quickly, when you count it, then each EB did 50 000 dps to shields, diasabled weapon it was targeting and did even small but still some damage, is that balanced?
@Dalas120 i thing that people wil apreciate more stone paper scisors style of game, even for cost that thay will chose wrong type of ship and loose because of it. But, there is definetelly more fun in fleets battles, so , you just must wisely mix your ships into fleet of different ships. And , in reality when you fight, can you imagine to request your opponent to tell you ahead what exactly he will use agaist you?
