Gravity, while technically the weakest of the four forces on anything but a macro scale, can also affect things in separate dimensions. That means that large celestial objects (stars, planets, black holes, etc.) can affect and do...bad stuff? to ships in hyperspace. I don't even know about nebulas, man. That's just weird.

Also because George Lucas' canon is fucked up. At least Larry Niven had a plausible explanation for why ships in FTL couldn't approach gravity wells

EDIT: Apparently the whole issue with gravity wells has something to do with mass shadows. Whatever.

Jesus3747 He meant by creating new technology mid-battle to turn the tides of things, which is a form of plot armor.

Okay, so some more context here. We didn't bring a gate with us. We built a gate in UG space and came here. What you destroyed was a very small part of the taskforce, and we brought shipyards with us. Tremble, mighty Thrawn.

suddenly,a red portal opens up and from it came three AAAs in an arrow formation,although radar signitures shows all of them are indeed crimson alliance's AAA, something tells both the fleet that the two AAAs on the flanks seems to be abit.....off
the AAAs quickly forms an arrow formation formation and begin broadcasting messages

"greetings fellow spacefarers,we...uh......are the crimson alliance,and we shall destroy all of you! now heres a catxh,sieze your guns and surrender so we can plund......subjucate your ships!"

don't know why through visual indication the AAAs' edge seems to be abit fuzzy,like a 3D projection....
