problems opening Cosmoteer with wine on linux

I am in Ubuntu Linux 16.04 and trying to open Cosmoteer with wine.
it opens for what seems a millisecond then closes no matter what I do.
please help

Check the log file. On Windows it's stored in Documents\My Games\Cosmoteer\Logs. Not sure where Wine maps that directory.

People have had mixed success in the past getting Cosmoteer to work under Wine.
