Sombreroman And finally, Topping it off...
THE KESTREL CRUSIER (FUTURE)

Mass: 669.9 Tonnes
Crew: Still 60 (Or in FTL terms, 6 I guess)
Value: 385,300 Scrap (In MATERIAL value)
During the Last Stand, The Kestrel Took one Heckuva Beating. After the battle, The ship was repaired by The Federation. Although It doesn't have any more holes, Any glance from even the outside makes it obvious that it has "History" in that location. Really, all the Federation Did was "Put Tape Over the Holes"... Even after all of the Effort the Crew of Her went through to get here! But, I guess It can't be helped. The Federation was restoring themselves after the Civil war, expanding, Negotiating, and Producing. Producing, Being, a Massive fleet to make sure A Rebel Domination happens again.
Yet, The Captain felt empty about the Decision. While crew Celebrated, The Captain Thought more deeply about this. Why did the Rebellion even start? Because the Federation was at a Vantage point. An absolute high after the Mantis war. The Rebels Probably thought the Mantis had too much mercy, but they were suppressed their rights to make their points less aggressively.
Thinking now, Rebellions don't just begin like this particularly. Another could begin when The Gap of power between Civilian and Captain Grows Too Large. Surely, even at another golden age, There would probably be a new Rebellion. The Captain Took a Deep breath... And Prayed that he would not have to Fight A Huge war where the other Federation ships match the enemy. Because, The Kestrel almost as weak as any other Ship in it's days. Even a modern small ship is now more than a match for her. Just imagine fighting a Modern Rebel Flagship...
Then, They looked beside Them. The FTL would be a while, as the Galaxy they were headed to was far away. VERY Far away. They looked at an old friend of theirs.
"If only you were here now. It's much more prosperous. So, I'll not fail on my promise, as to even things out."
The Picture was of a Slug Crew member, one not like the others. One that wasn't selfish. Then, the Captain looked behind them. It was the Same Crew member from earlier.
"You're looking at the Picture again?"
"It's been Twenty years. He made a honourable sacrifice to Make sure the Federation could live another day."
The Captain Continued.
"In the meantime, The Event definitely changed you. You definitely were a fighter, even from the start..."
The Event did claim the Lives of many of it's willing Test Subjects, Both young and old. Only three of them survived, And only one was an adult. As for the Hybrid, They were one of the Two Children.
"He would have been very proud of you. Out of all the survivors, You are the one that's truly Special... Even if you could be called a Freak of nature."
The Hybrid shook her head slowly, and then went back to the back of the ship. There was a party going on. Even if most of the Crew members are at least 40 by now, none can forget they are heroes of the Federation, and their names will live on.
Except, For The Slug that never made it back.
Only the Captain and The Adult Survivor Know their name. The True hero the Federation forgot. The One that Sacrificed himself to Deal the finishing blow to the Rebel Flagship.
In the meantime, It was going to be a long day anyway. There's a whole new Galaxy to Discover... No, Galaxies, To discover. And although The Kestrel was in no fighting condition, The Captain couldn't wait to fight once again nonetheless. The Captain Was going to join the party, but first, They looked back again at the picture.
"I will see you again in time, Old friend."
THE END, FOR NOW
