OK, so I've heard a lot about faction wars and servers in the past few weeks, and since I recently found the CosmoServer application in the Program Files folder, I've decided it's time to launch my idea.
Faction Wars Live!
- 2+ people must participate(so a person with multiple factions must fight another person, aka no people fighting themselves because you can do that yourself)
- No more than 4 factions
- Any mods except ABH are allowed
- No Coalition Weapons Pack railguns from version 1.1 are allowed on non-defense fleet ships(this is before the range nerf, used to be 2km range)
- Someone other than me has to host because I have no home internet(I'm posting this from McDonalds)
- There will be capture points (aka zones ~20km apart, maybe even in separate sectors) where Large Ships Mod guardian juggernaut huge ships will sit, not on any faction's side, just to make the cap more fun.
- Each faction's base will be in a separate sector with guardian ships and AI defense fleets(the faction will be able to jump in its major forces to assist with the defense if necessary)
- Each faction will have unlimited warships and funds, but the number of fleets that can be spawned in scales with the number of capture points held by that faction(0 caps = 1 fleet/turn, 1 caps = 2 fleets/turn, etc.)
- Each faction will be allowed to use CWP railguns from v1.1 on defense fleet ships, but defense fleet ships have no FTL and therefore cannot warp.
- A faction "wins" by being the last man standing(either by destroying all the other faction's bases or just surviving and letting the others kill each other)
- A faction can survive its base being destroyed if its remaining forces can capture a point before being destroyed. Here they can claim this point as an interim base and spawn a guardian ship and one defense fleet.
- The war will follow a turn-based system. If a point is contested at the end of a turn, the faction with the most operable warships at that point will take it by the next turn. Each faction will have an opportunity to spawn additional fleets based on their current standings.emphasized text
