ShakeshaBererund
"...More pancakes then!" Constable-Unknown proceeded to a corner of the room and started forming some pancakes. Meanwhile, Cobra-Composite looked to the Lifter droid and... nodded? Whatever that did, the Lifter droid went back out of the room to get something.
"Little things can lead to catastrophic events, yes. Whereas your resolve seems anchored to this dimension, know that the Collective spans quite a number of universes, in multiple dimensions. We realize that we are not complete 'gods,' in technicality, but regardless of standing we have a goal that we strive for and a job we hold responsibility for - We collect information, archive it, bring it to future generations should the need arise, and watch the beauty of logic and order come to its highest point. We will experience all we want to experience, to further the goals of the Collective."
Now the Yellow glowing AI seems to glow brighter, and he puts his hands on the table in the room - suddenly a multitude of stars branch out, then some planets orbiting them - it seems to be a setup much similar to Shakesha's. "Civilizations may come, and civilizations may go, but the memories of each are important to us." And civilizations came to rise on the planets, large cities, space elevators, and soon spacefaring starships appeared and zipped about. "Every mistake has its lesson, and every lesson learned is valuable in of itself. Knowing this, the Collective strive not just to learn from their own mistakes, but from the mistakes of others." Multiple anomalous features started to appear, miniature black holes sucking an entire system, meteor storms blowing away entire fleets of ships, gaseous clouds causing ships to disappear inside and never come out, planets catching on fire and dying out... pretty soon, this "galaxy" had become a sort of space wasteland. Cobra-Composite waved his hand and once more a sun went supernova, wiping out the simulated life in the entire room and causing the station to shake a third time.
"In this unfortunately chaotic cycle, we have to create a meaningful life for ourselves, isn't that what it all simplifies into?"
Meanwhile, Constable-Unknown plunked down a plate containing a stack of pancakes with lots of syrup and even butter. "None of that table sugar stuff this time around - another experiment for another day perhaps."
((Geez, typing all that made me so tired. Bedtime I guess!))
