sorry, i havent had the energy to carry on with echoes at the moment, as it takes up quite a lot of my energy keeping continuity and such, i will try to post the next step soon but i would rather wait till i can give it my full attention as otherwise i may not manage to keep it interesting, i will at least post a bit today though, but i DK when i will post next, rest assured tho, it aint dead! just cooling off a bit.

For some unknown reason, another energy spike occurs in Starbase Gateway-One, and progress towards charging the experimental FTL drive is proceeding at half speed. The energy spike is actually a Rift-Signature, a rather small but remarkable one, leading to the 6th Dimension within the Starbase itself. Is something going wrong in the Collective's home Dimension?

TTE sends in a Downfall class Scout to investigate
The scout gets the same readings stated above - Rift-signature inside the station, half-power transfer to FTL systems. It also picks up that some of the Subcore ships have powered down non-essential systems and are donating surplus power to the Starbase.
The Scout is actually able to read the energy readings from the Rift-Signature. This is a big deal because they usually appear and disappear at such a fast rate that analysis is practically impossible, and also because similar happenings were experienced in the TTE's home galaxy. This signature is a stable miniature wormhole contained within the station, leading to the 6th dimension. HEAVY psionic residue is emanating from this portal, as well as massive energy signatures, and some unknown hybrid force of magic and technology... is some form of technomancy involved in this?
As mentioned, the portal is within the station itself. The only way to access it is by docking the scout and going into Gateway-One on foot. But is this worth it?

GATEWAY ONE HAS DISSAPEARED
Last thing that the Collective know is that the Rogue Core Digital-Condescending had installed advanced malware programs disguising themselves as "updates" to Constable-Unknown's Starbase maintenance protocols. The Starbase, Constable-Unknown and Golden-Lampshade are now missing and considered to be taken hostage by the Rogue Cores, who have, despite all odds, managed to find a way to completely manipulate Core-AI thought processes to fit their own demands. September-Rising was also a part of the Starbase before its takeover but was forced out, he is being quarantined and closely watched.
Another Starbase is soon taking its place, however.
