The ISA is a Tiered Representative Democracy, this means that each colony has 2 representatives in the larger sector government, which has several representatives in the Zone government, which has several representatives in the State Government which has several representatives in the total Government, this system has proven to be effective in keeping the 1.54 Million colonies of the ISA from being underrepresented in the main government.

The ISA Military has 110 Core fleets and 1,425 Patrol Fleets with roughly 4 Million ships on detached duty, this is supplemented by the 300 ship militias that every colony has, effectively allowing the ISA access to over 300 million combat vessels in times of emergency

The ISA has exclusive rights to the Pagasi 33 megashipyard, which constructs ships at a rate of 25 per day, this excessive rate of ship construction is supplied by the massive budget of the ISA, which at the last count in 3141.8, is around 522,494,048,213,932 Credits.
