Topic on the definition of a 'Great' Game

Recently I've been thinking about video games and what defines a great game, and I have hit a bit of a snag in my thoughts, whatever I believe what makes a game great will most definitely not be someone else's definition of a great game.

So I decided, to figure out what other people think, I should just ask the forums.

So I am asking the forums, what makes a game great, in your eyes?

freedom to make your own lore/characters aswell as good game mechanics and gameplay

How smooth it runs, how much content it has, if it has multiplayer and if said multiplayer is not infested with lag or hacking, Freedom to build stuff and characters, an end goal, and if it is fun (I mean, really, why would we be playing then?)

Throwing my own definition because I can, deal with it

Games that have a lot of depth, general rule of thumb for me, if it can keep me playing for the better part of a day and i still have yet to reach the end, its good enough for me.

Every game can be a great game without havingaanything spacial as long as u want to keep playing it it's good. If a game get boring after sometime it's not that great, note: it doesn't have to be bad for me to get bored of it
