Strange crash, happens with and without mods (I think)

So I constantly get the DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED crash, tried all the fixes in FAQ, tried running without mods, happened anyway. I use ABHmod, Akinata Stargate Weapons, Drones++ and some Decalmore stuff, don't think they are the problem but just in case. My game runs perfectly smoothly, even in larger battles, and then will just sometimes freeze for no reason and crash.

Yeah I've been trying to figure that crash out for months with no luck. It doesn't happen to me which makes it incredibly hard to solve. (Maybe someone with this problem will just mail me their laptop, lol.)

Just for my info, what GPU do you have?

Google search shows it to be an NVidia graphics card problem (at least the ones I looked at) and some have solved the problem by updating their graphics drivers.

WillieSea In Cosmoteer's case, it happens with just about every brand of GPU, though the large majority seem to be Intel GPUs.

Is that even a problem caused by the game? I've seen people complain about the same error in other games.

Have people tried low frame rate limits (maybe as low as half refresh rate, but this will of course make the game look less smooth)? If VSync helps some people it could be some sort of weird concurrency bug in some part of DirectX.

At this point I'm about 90% confident that it's not a Cosmoteer bug. But it could still be something unusual I'm doing that's exposing a problem in some video drivers, and I might be able to work around that problem if I can figure out what it is.

I have some sort of Intel integrated graphics, I would be using an AMD Radeon, but that broke a while back, and I haven't replaced it yet.

Oh, on an unrelated note, I constantly get the audio equivalent of video tearing, weird faint pops about 4 times a second. Not terrible, just odd.
