jbox1 That's game design for you. Sometimes, players like the game for different reasons than you tried to design it. I found that most starting designers think that things having drawbacks makes gameplay more interesting, and yes, it does. However, players often don't like drawbacks. Players often think that if games are hard, they are more fun and challenging, but they overestimate their skill and get frustrated. Games should be just hard enough to pretend they are challenging.
And there goes the whole puzzle aspect of Cosmoteer. While sound in theory, a lot of players just want a sandbox lego set, and blow stuff up. So, yay, rooftop turrets. Now all it needs is a good counter.
