The Y-scout backs off, but the fighters kept their course. They got to the point where they were between the Y-scout and the Beacon... and then stopped. They were outside weapons range, so the Y-scout did not fire.

The Beacon is still repeating the "!" mark

RandomCommander Hmm, the commander orders the Y-Scouts and starhawks to follow the anomaly from the sides, kind of like herding them.

EpicJp21 The fleets stay a considerable distance away from the Collective force making its way to the asteroid field. The three scouts guarding the first beacon move on to the second beacon, and then regroup with the anomalous fleet. When they do, however, the malfunctioning DC ships stop completely, and go into defensive positions. Their weapons are charged and shields are active, it seems the damaged look was just for show.

On their way back to the reactor, the crew notice a swarm of parasites that fill the corridor, blocking their path.
The parasites are moving quickly toward the crew, apparently with hostile intent.

Tickytickytango One of the crew remembers that the backup generators also have the panel, so the run firing behind them.

You suspect that the backup generators will not cause as large an explosion as the primary reactors, but with the swarm fast approaching, it may at least make a dent in their numbers.
Opening the panel of the backup generators reveals another parasite feeding on the power.

Tickytickytango The crew attach all of their small controlled explosives, as its part of the basic rescue gear for many reasons...
The send a voice file to their families and detonate the explosive...

The explosion goes off just as the parasites begin crawling over the generator.
Most of the parasites become purple goo.
The last few parasites are sucked into space.
One of the crew members survives the explosion and manages to hang on until the emergency bulkhead seals the breach.
There are likely more parasites on the station and the main reactor would surely finish this.

Tickytickytango The rest of the fleet tells the one crew member that if he can make it to a Y-Scout he can escape, leaving the station to be blown up by the fleet.

Fortunately, the docking port is not too far, and the crewman arrives without any resistance from the parasites.
But that's where his luck ends.
The Y-Scouts seem to have some parasites leaching their power, 1 per ship.

RandomCommander The commander calls in for 2 Elite Super Starhawks to the opposite side of the asteroid field for support, and the fleet to also go into a defensive stance.

EpicJp21 The situation is tense, both fleets are on the defensive waiting for someone to fire the first shot... but that moment never came. Eventually the "!" sign stopped transmitting and the Subcore of the anomalous fleet turned towards the area where the F.I.G. Outpost is located, then turned to the reinforcement Super Starhawks, then back at the fleets trying to herd them.
