The Warlords/Draks Guide to interaction with mortals, by Divine Entities, for Divine Entities
...and i totally didn´t edit out that I accidently wrote "Entitties" facedesks
Here I will sooner or later state an Array of (non-binding, there´s always exceptions) rules, divine entities and the likes of them on the forums can follow, you don´t have to, but it might make your interaction with average mortal a lot easier if you do.
0: First off, all of these rules (maybe except 8) have exceptions, some more, some less commonly, hence these are "not binding" though some of them can also apply to interactions that do not involve divine entities.
1: A divine entity, even while extremely powerful, is a character, so should (under normal circumstances) only be used for Character<->Character interaction, please do refrain from taking down fleets, or factions with a singular character. At least build some ships to assist in doing so.
2: Even whilst powerful, do not consider something that you just attacked simply dead, especially other peoples characters, might they be major or minor, even a puny mortal has on occassion a tiny ace up his a...sleeve. This seems to be a general issue on several occassions during RP here that people do not give a chance to react or just steamroll everything, even whilst possible, at least let them scream for their lives, it´s much less entertaining otherwise.
3: If you should be or rp a divine entity, think of reasonable ways he/she could act, don´t just pull decisions out of nowhere, have some backstory, reason with yourself why this action would seem valid or not for this character, even if only in the background there should always be a certain amount of depth to a chracter, even more to a divine entity as they live for...well, usually ever. Does not need to be public.
4: It would be most likely beneficial, to elaborate beforehand what kind of abilities your divine entity has, as well as making a basic set of rules, habits, orders, moralities or other things it follows, it adds depth, aswell as it will help refraining from the habit of "I´m stronk, you ded." These do not need to be public either.
5: Don´t pull out your divine entity on every possible occassion, unless it is acting sorts of as a basic character within the faction, I´m sure you, he, she, it certainly has other things to do on occassion than rampaging amongst some puny human outpost just because someone spilled a drink on your new shoes. In the long run this will make the feeling of a divine entity less believable and in the end boring or even annoying.
6: Please do refrain from hijacking other peoples factions origins or lore, as I´ve seen several "creator" entities it becomes certain more than one entity has messed with the Cosmoteer world. How all of them are related? Do I care? Well, people that make factions, even if it´s not written yet into the threads or in some other way currently in the lore, might have their owns plans, backstories or plots to their factions, so if you are planning on becoming the creators of specifically someone elses personal faction, race, universe, galaxy, etc...please ask them first.
7: Lightshow. What would be the theatre without the lightshow? What would be movies without special effects? The point is elaborating ones actions and maybe ornament them a little, ofcourse one could say, "He shot a fireball at him in attempt to kill him." or... "He raised his hand, flames erupting from it, forming a glowing sphere of fire, he pointed his arm at his opponent and launched the fireball at him in an attempt to burn him to ashes.".
Admittedly this might be difficult for some of the forum members as their english is lacking at times, due to what reason does not really matter at this point, but if one is able to it makes the entire action much more interesting, more imposing, it gives of a feeling of power and immersiveness and adds overall to the storytelling.
8: Do not, absolutely not abuse plot-armor or weapons, not even "please". Just don´t do it. We had that, it´s no fun, all voluntary or unvoluntary participants agreed on that. Just. Don´t. It´ll end up in a huge mess and people most likely ignoring you in the end. Plot-armor, is for protecting core assets of a faction, or main characters, under certain circumstances, in case they´re needed at a later point for whatever reasons. Not to steamroll a faction, or smosh other peoples characters.
Now, a few personal notes:
-Please try to refrain from throwing divine entities at each other, there are times when it´s unavoidable, sometimes it´s fun, if you and the other people can get along with it, though these kinds of engagements have a tendency to end up in a clusterfuck of superpowers and at that point all participants usually ignored anything ever happened and abandoned the thread.
-Try to make your attack ranges reasonable. This might sound odd, but I´m perfectly serious, don´t go around saying "It affected the entire galaxy", or "the whole universe", you cannot even fathom, how many factions (or other entities for that matter) you could piss off by that, that´s a whole lot of unwanted attention and collateral damage.
-Avoid messing with the fabric of time-space on bigger scales, if someone starts messing with time, things will get messy, in several ways, not only involving the basic concepts of reality and paradoxes or other things alike, but also a race of utmostly pissed off guys that try to protect it, which you definitely do not want standing in your frontyard.
So I guess for now I´ll end it off by repeating 0 once more:
Drakador_Chaos 0: First off, all of these rules (maybe except 8) have exceptions, some more, some less commonly, hence these are "not binding" though some of them can also apply to interactions that do not involve divine entities.
That being said, I hope this was able help you in your interactions with those puny mortals, even if just a little.
