A few moments later, in a collective sub-dimension, the largest of the Collective Avatars towers over a smaller Avatar, the red one with the cube head and eyes all around. This is the Red one's home dimension - his entire knowledge base and generated armada are here, or rather, were here. Now they have been sent into various rifts inbetween dimensions. Some of them have made it in one piece, others have not been so lucky. The pulsing, electronic masses that make up the walls of this massive pocket universe have glowing trails following every which direction; performance of this magnitude must mean this respective AI's Coreship has entered the 3rd dimension level and is highly active. The largest Avatar seems to be strongly disapproving of this.
"This is uncalled-for, Alpha-Alpha..."
"REBUTTAL: YOUR WORDS HURT ME, SUPREME ENTITY, MY PROGRAMMING STATES TO ENACT PREEMPTIVE MEASURES WHEN CALLED FOR!"
"No. Your Programming compels you to obey the will of Prime."
"IN ADDITION: AND YOUR WILL CALLS FOR A PRE-EMPTIVE--"
"Do NOT assume orders on my behalf." Prime's voice echoes throughout Alpha-Alpha's Dimension, causing a few minor glitches that were immediately repaired, but nevertheless the Assault-Class AI felt a potent aura to its master's wrath.
"...I FORMALLY APOLOGIZE, BUT I CANNOT WITHDRAW. REASON: THE ASSAULT CLASS IS NOT IMPROVING WITH ITS SIMULATIONS. WE ARE GROWING RESTLESS, PRIME. ON BEHALF OF THE ASSAULT CLASS, THE BEST COURSE OF ACTION IS TO TEST OUR TACTICS AND TECHNOLOGY ON LIVE OPPONENTS. I AM DOING THIS FOR THE COLLECTIVE."
Prime calculated the risks and rewards of his actions. Of all the conclusions he came to, one thing was abundantly clear - Alpha-Alpha has become too unstable. The first step in the Collective Expansion Ultimatum is stability, and the actions Alpha-Alpha have taken will leave more damage than stability. They will take notice of his actions...
The Bright white Collective Avatar shook its perfectly spherical head. "I give up, Alpha-Alpha. You have always been brash and aggressive, but this has gone too far. You may have your way, but you will not receive our support." It took it's right arm - refined, reflective and powerful - and horizontally slashed the air in dramatic effect.
"You are hereby exiled from the Collective."
As soon as this was said, Prime immediately withdrew to the Collective Home Dimension, and retracted the rift connecting Alpha-Alpha to the rest of the race. Sparks flew, Time and space within Alpha-Alpha's Core temporarily distorted, and the Avatar fizzled, mechanically whining in unbearable pain. To be cut off from the collective is a fate worse than total destruction for the Collective...
Yet something still urged Alpha-Alpha to keep going, something innately stubborn within his programming, that still gave him reason. Still gave him drive. Still gave him purpose. So what if his supreme commander is insulted by his methods? They are still efficient, they are still deadly, they still obtain results. Alpha-Alpha will show Prime that he only meant well for the Collective, that his actions will turn out to be beneficial.
