automatic repair

i know abh has repair drones, but my problem with them is that they repair the ship from the outside.
say i'm under heavy fire and i send drones out, they'd pretty much get shot down immediately
i'm looking for some way of fixing the ship from the inside. for example my favourite design has tons of shields, but no matter how many i have and how much power they're getting, they do eventually flicker at which point my cannons get damaged/destroyed. if i could repair the cannons while the shields regenerate that would be great
so what i'm suggesting is something like the fire extinguisher, except that it heals a part of the ship rather than stopping a fire. still requires workers, so just pretend that everyone on the ship is a skilled engineer

Well, there´s the nanite damage control in abh which can slowly repair surrounding blocks in a, dunno, somewhere between 3 and 6 blocks radius, it cannotrepair destroyed parts though. ...and the Repair orb, which I´m not quite sure how it works since i was too lazy to test it up to this Point.
