@Tickytickytango I'm going to take a moment and point something out.
The issue with this trial, as I see it, is to prove or disprove K.O.L's guilt on the matter of war crimes, specifically the crime of knowingly assaulting refugee ships. That the nearby planet was devastated is not of concern. The prosecution must prove that the defendant knew the Morian ships carried refugee, and still attacked anyway. Without such proof, those refugee ships go from a war crime to merely a tragic statistic.
