The Diplo are a rare occurrence in the galaxies across the universe. Nobody really knows who they are, except they look like the race of whoever looks at them. It is speculated that they exist to prevent species from killing themselves off and such by diplomatic discussion. In the time being, the only type seen in this cluster of galaxies is the Diplo 1, which looks strangely like a space probe from the 2000's. The ship inside is really comfortable. Guests will take comfort in the sphere top of the ship, discussing with a Diplo about their issues. Should a shuttle face an enemy willing to harm it, It can either:
1) Fly or Warp Away,
or,
2) 
Use it's boarding line as a needle-like weapon in self defense.
The latter is usually followed with the above should they not be able to normally escape threat range.
Nobody knows how they truly look like, but these odd occurrences are usually temporary.
