The Drones of The Lost Fleet
Backstory
The Drones were created as a secret millitary project of a now dead empire, they evolved over a long while underground, released by some faction and forgotten in the depths of this forum. So here they are!
Behavior
The drones are a harmless race of AI drones. They do not lust riches as other factions do, but instead value technology, exploration and curiosity above all else. They live a nomadic lifestyle, going from area to area, mining, taking only what they need in their explorations, and rare items and anomalies. They love to partake in peacekeeping and will help any other faction in need, but they don’t like factions which actively partake in war. Otherwise, they are a simple race with simple goals.
Artifacts
Certain anomalies and artifacts are collected by the drones, and kept by x00 for safe keeping. You can also donate such treaures to the drones, and they would be glad to hold onto them.
- Hivemind corruption data: This data core holds the corruption code of a hivemind. It was found in one of 3 ‘vaults’ of which the origin of said vaults are unkown. It is nearly impossible to crack, but the drones are actively trying to decode it in the hopes of using it to help repair other drones, grow crops and other constructive purposes.
- SFCD (Space Folding Cancelation Device): small metal box with switches attatched. The SFCD is a form of Razain technology, that can stabalize space time, and block FTL jumps too and from a sector. It spent most of it’s lifetime in Scavanger control, and was lost during the downfall of the Scavangers. It was found by a scouting drone after the Cosmolord-Scavanger war.
- ’Figit Spinner’: Ancient figit spinner, traded for uranium ore from the Terran Alliance. It’s bearings are rusted, but you can almost imagine it in it’s true form.
- ’Harold IV’ - Jack’s blowtorch: Harold IV was the brainchild of now deceased Scavanger engineer Jack. It is powerful enough to cut through two meters of military grade armor.
- Blood Red Feather: Strange artifact that almost glows with some form of energy. Found in the Scavanger battlefield. Might be something rare or exotic, but for now, makes a nice decorative peice!
- Micro “Death Star” laser: Miniturized “Death Star” laser, which has the ability to easily tear through dozens of meters of military grade armor.
- Balonium Chunk: “That is a big hunk of military grade balonium”
- Gen - 2 Drone Core: Specially crafted by x00, the Gen - 2 Drone Core uses quatum computers to compact a whole AI module into a chip the size of a stamp. Thanks to this, the Gen - 2 drone core can fit in an ultra powerful electricity supply, of which most of it is diverted to what x00 calls a “matter drive”. This matter drive is claimed to be a new breed of microfactory, which can create fully functioning drone parts from raw recourses. Aside from this, the matter drive’s true purpose is unkown.
Classifications
Drones go by names representing their role, type and their unique ID. A name such as S10 refers to a scout, with the unique ID, 10.
Here are all the possible roles:
- x: Leader (the only leader is x00)
- s: Scout (AI powered drones with sensor and possible light weaponary and FTL drives)
- a: Attack (AI powered drones with heavy weaponary and possible sheilding)
- d: Defendce (regular drones with very heavy weaponary)
- c: Constructer (regular drones with large cavity for constructing new drones)
- m: Miner (regular drones with mining equipment)
