Colorable laser bolts?

i was building ships for my ever growing star wars fleet and i thought "wouldnt it be cool to give the republic ships blue lasers, the cis red lasers, the empire green and blue lasers and so on and so forth...."

will that be a feature at some point? like with a menu too change the color of the individual lasers, similar to the menu on this site: http://www.color-hex.com/ (click the black box with the arrow down to open it....)

You mean without modding the game? I haven't been planning on that, but I'll think about it.

FYI, the next version of the game changes all the weapons graphics and effects. (Though lasers are still predominantly red.)
