during combat, i noticed something wonky with ships that have broadsides (their sides got tons of large cannons, like the drakon sword).
these broadside ships tend to charge straight at you, then flip to their side to deliver a broadside, but once they do that, it kills their momentum so they need to try to catch up to you as you kite them and then they repeat the same pattern over again. (assuming your missile salvos didn't already kill them before they even reach you)
so i'd like to suggest adding "combat orbit"
ie :
- right click on enemy ship + drag (to get the kiting distance)
- then click on a button for "orbit clockwise or counter clockwise"
this would be good for broadside ships and agile fighters against heavy ships with slow turn speeds.
edit : nevermind, it seems that rightclick + drag rotate allows the ship to "orbit" the enemy and then lock in place. (assuming your ship's speed is faster than enemy's turn speed, which is unlikely, since even huge ships in vanguard space have high turn speeds)
