Authors Note
hi, and this is my first ship pack, and lore. All of the ship's are 100% vanilla, so you won't need to download any mod's. If you want, you can get them all in the ship pack mod. The link and instruction's to install the mod can be found below. This faction will be updated regularly, so follow it for updates. Enjoy!
Lore
during a dark time, a powerful ruler on a distant planet designed and built a small fleet of elite ships designed to be both powerful and durable, and under only his command. He used the most powerful weapons available, and the strongest of materials. But, as time passed, the ruler forgot about his projects, and when he died, his country was lain to waste. The occasional scavenger would pick away at the planet, taking from what was left. some would find there way to the secret underground workshops, where lay the now outdated antics. slowly, one by one, each of the old ships found it's new master. The Lost Fleet is not a faction, it has no leader, but it's ships legacy survives, somewhere among the ruins of the once great empire. legend has it, that once all ships are in the same hands, they shall be able to gain power and control of the empire once more.
Mod Pack
If you can't be bothered saving all the images below, and want an even more difficult, yet practical, way of getting all these ships, follow the instructions below to install all these ships as a mod.

"Junkers" faction, which adds mutated, rebuilt versions of ships that have too long been in the hands of another.
Legendary Ships
The Beetle MK 3
one of the earliest ships in the fleet, during a time of conquest, the ruler decided a mothership was needed, to provide strong front line support and control. the ruler was still young then, and had made many mistakes in earlier designs. this was his first true success. it housed a line of overlapping shields which could protect it against any frontal enemies, and it's two ion lasers and missiles could keep an enemy busy. however, it's main strength was the incorporation of convear belts, making it the most efficient ship for moving crew and supplies to their destination. although it has it's flaws, it can still handle most enemies it encounters. Many can still be found, thanks to it being sold off to other parties, once the MK 4 came into production.

The Beetle MK 4
After many wars had been won, the ruler decided that his MK 3 Beetles had grown old and outdated, and flawed. Soon, a better, more efficient, and more powerful model was built, The Beetle MK 4. Using what he had learnt from the MK 3, the MK 4 was designed to be not only stronger, but more efficient. more attention was payed to placement of weapons and armor, and the design soon took the place of the MK 3's. it still held top place in efficiency, thanks to it's convear belts, and power cores were well spaced to make it less prone to "total and absolute failure". even in dire circumstances, the ship can still keep on firing until it's last breath, and the survivors often had some stories to tell! the MK4 remained a crew favorite for a long time.

The Beetle MK 5
after seeing The Beetle MK 4 in battle quite a few times, the ruler still noted that flaws would pop up in it's design. tired of constant renovations of the MK 4, the ruler set out that a new MK 5 would be built, however, since it was so similar in design, engineers would frequently begin construction of a MK 4, oblivious to the fact they were supposed to be building an MK 5. even the paint job, was an exact clone of that of an MK 4. those responsible for the mishaps were promptly fired, but still, a few MK 5's exist due to these issues.
The Punch MK 1
in an ill thought-through attempt to make a light, missile bearing ship, The Punch was born. lacking both weapons and armor, The Punch was more often used to support The Beetle, and would fire volleys of missiles from a distance, whilst only receiving some damage. However, since it lacked lighter weapons, a faster enemy could easily attack weak point's with-out receiving much damage in return.

The Punch MK 2
Realizing his mistakes, the ruler then made a new design of The Punch, making a few minor but crucial changes. The engines where upgraded, making it faster, and better at dodging enemies. Two small lasers both improve firepower, but more importantly provide a reliable weapon at close-range. lastly, heavy armor was added to help protect it from missiles, that had been able to dodge the point deference systems.

The Sting MK 1
After the development of The Beetle MK 3 and The Punch Mk 2, the ruler realized that a new, elite fleet could be formed to aid and protect The Beetle and it's fleets. The Sting acted as an independent, fast and strong fighter, featuring a powerful shield and a few lasers. Although it would seem silly to allow it to act independently or as it's own force, The Sting was able to defend against enemy ship's that were too fast or out of the way of the weapons of The Beetle.

Reject Ships
Scrapper
"Scrapper" is the only name it's ever known, as it's real name was lost in history. It appears to be an experimental ship, using it's electro-bolt's to disable an enemy, then allowing the ion-beam to shred it to pieces. It was soon forgotten, and had been left to rust. it has been suggested that it may have been larger in the past, as it's new name, printed on by junkers, has the end of it missing.

The Beetle MK 3 (reject)
Once The Beetle MK 4 had come into production, the MK3s were now obselete. many were sold off to fund production of the MK 4, yet a few were put into storage, just encase someday they were needed.

XP-1
The XP-1 is a near ancient craft, that has more rust than parts. It has long been heralded that it was the first version of the beetle, due to the inclusion of ion beams and shields, in a similar placement to a modern Beetle MK 4.
Known to exist: 0.5 (the only ship found had to be rebuilt partially, due to one of the reactors having gone critical. the repaired sections are the only parts of the ship that are not rusted over.)
XP-2
the XP-2 shares little resemblance to most of the other lost ships, with it's straight parts and lighter sheilds. this ship is the first ship to use Rocket launchers, and could either be an early version of The Beetle or The Punch. it also incorporates an unnecessarily large amount of ammo and energy stores upfront, a feture not seen on any other lost ship.

Epilogue
Even though the ships above seem outdated and weak, in it's time they were formidable fighters, and enemies would either surrender on sight, or run. The few that challenged them were never heard from again. There may be more ships, waiting to be discovered, among the archives of that ruler, or hidden in the secret areas of his workshop.
