Amazing_Goob Eh, SW is pretty low level primitive compared to other universes like Star Trek, unless you count all the "recent" copy cat ideas. Well, pretty much everything since the classics have been shopping design ideas from elsewhere. (e.g. station in STAR WARS: The Old Republic<= Abh starbase; planet weapon<=Gal Force; relativistic asteroids<=LoGH; infinity wave<=Yamato wave motion weapon; dark reaper<=final fantasy7/star ocean2; mass shadow etc.)
Also there's a limit what can be modded now. At some point there's no real technical difference other than graphics. Pretty much everything else in the video can't be done. The DS laser I've coded will be able to cover all variations especially with the future feature. However, note there's a mathematical limit to how powerful a weapon can get in-game. So the build-expansion related increase in firepower is limited. The same goes for damage simulation which could cause a crash.
