I tried very hard not to change the basic shape you had, it looked too good to change.

I removed a few FTL and still kept your ship at 99% FTL capable.
I removed half the scanners, I don't think they stack.
I moved the guns on the side out, opened up a lot of interior space, removed the battery banks and ammo storage, added more people, more engines in the engine pods, more shields. Lots of stuff. So actually, the 200K more in expenses is right for what was done. It also turns a LOT faster than your model.

Any improvements that you can make while keeping it under 1mill? and yes I know it's a wall.

Oneye You could save quite a few credits by adding 1 more reactor in the back so that there is 1 for the ion cannon and 1 in each wing for the PD and engines. Since the walking distance would be a lot less only about half the current crew should be needed.

Adding more reactors in the front can make a version that can beat the current version but it would be weaker against other types of enemies because it would be more explody.

If you aren't against making the ship bigger (keeping cost the same) I'd suggest reducing crew and adding another cannon block to each side for more fire power.

I did not change any of the weapons, but I did remove a few of the PD from the back that may not have much effect. I concentrated on making the inside of the ship more efficient. I hope you like it.

Yours cost 1,185 million. My version costs 1,267 million. An increase of about 80K, which is mostly crew. Your design quickly runs out of power and become less and less effective in longer running battles, which I see as its major weakness.

Compared (using battle helper) to stock ships the first one in descending price your design beats (excluding The Beast, which practically everything beats) is the Umbrage.

At a slightly lower price, this version beats everything up to the Gatecrasher, as well as everything else up to the Crescent Wrath except the Cerberus. Under manual control it can beat everything stock except the Terror.

I also considered a version with diversified armaments. It's still a hair cheaper than the original, but having penetrating weapons doesn't help as much as I'd hoped. It beats the previous upgrade, but doesn't fare better against stock ships in battle helper.

Here's the modified ship. It costs 2.3 mil compared to the original's 2.9 mil. Results:

It defeated the original taking only $56 damage.
I completely compartmentalized the ship, so the reactors/missiles don't chain and blow up half the ship at once. Aesthetics are very lacking, but you can customize that to your own liking. 😛

IronCross42 It has 2 fewer missile launchers now. However, the modules are FAR more efficient, so the fire rate is much faster.

Oneye You are already at the bare minimum on everything in that ship. I don't see how it could be improved much without costing more than it already does.

Perhaps get rid of the batteries and put the energy generator closer to the front of the ship.

Oneye You could get better missile fire rate by having 3 launchers and 3 factories instead to 4 launchers and 2 factories.

s36350 Well if you are aiming for appearance with the first ship you could at least make it symmetrical.

The second one wont be going any where fast (unless spinning in circles count). But maybe that's its goal?
