If you don't mind having a look I have 2 cruiser class ships that are abit more modest in size than some of the ships here 😛 and I would appreciate if someone had a look over them. The first being my battle cruiser which specializes in broadsiding and the 2nd being my missile cruiser to support from range.
I have changed this ship nearly a dozen times (this is the mk10) and have constantly been improving it in some way but I'm not too sure what else I could to it without reworking the entire design and making a new ship. I designed it to have good protection and plenty of firepower for its size in as reasonably small a space as possible and to take on the brunt of the firepower, it is no battleship though. The cons of the ship as is are that it is slow (which isn't a concern if backed up by smaller more maneuverable ships), it does suffer from fires but its more to do with the biggest issue I have and that is my door placement/crew efficiency is kinda poor rather than lack of extinguishers I think.
This is my first missile cruiser ship so it could definitely use some work, while I found it was very good at taking on large ships (especially with 2 of these things which is easy as its affordable) other than a good PD array it has no form of defense other than minimal Armour and shielding, it's enough to stop an occasional brash of fire when trying to kite at distance but I try to avoid getting within range as this is predominantly a support ship and struggles against craft that are faster than it.
I do have plenty of smaller craft that are better suited to taking on more mobile targets than both of these ships but right now these 2 are the largest I have in my fleet and the ships I spent the most time on so I'd greatly appreciate some input, many thanks.
Edit: I slightly updated the missile cruiser so now the design flows better, there was a small notch in the Armour of the mid section joining the rear of the ship that was really annoying me
