What I did:
Removed elctrobolts. I noticed EB's and ions don't work well together. The AI likes staying back when it uses ions.
Switched to standard cannons. For the moment standards are OP, nerf incoming though!
Recessed ions even further into the ship. I wanted the ship to get a little closer to the enemy and had some extra space to fill in the middle of the ship.
Switched out missile modules. The original ship has modules so I just added @jakeblake 's missile module I use for everything.
Reinforced middle with more shielding. I usually test vs normal (hardest) AI and it likes to go for ions, so hiding them deep and behind lots of spaced shielding gives a tankier ship.
MOAR PD! As mentioned for the previous ship, missile too OP atm. PD buff incoming, so we might be able to tone down the PD a bit soon.
Carrier has arrived! I'm going a bit nuts on all things carrier atm, and the jaw section was begging me to be made into a detachable ship. You will need to flip the ship direction, but that just takes 2 clicks. Self destruct the triangles to launch the rear ship.
