2 possible new weapon types? Neither of which works through shields.
Needler from the Halo series:
In halo, it implants explosive needles into enemies, and after a short time, they detonate.
Cosmoteer: I'm thinking of a weapon that shoots point-defense style shots at enemies (minimal range, 0 damage). When the "needles" hit, basically nothing happens. However, when the module gets destroyed, it explodes in a bigger area. This is much stronger vs slow ships, as the needles can stack up on singular modules and cause bigger explosions.
Possibly let it attack your own ships (not sure how), to make kamikaze ships (even though those are already on the roadmap)
Parasite from Starcraft 1:
In starcraft, parasite is an ability that gives you vision of what the enemy sees.
Cosmoteer: Again, projectile that deals minimal damage to modules, but once a module gets hit, it becomes "infected" Any crew that enter an infected room become parasites, giving vision of what rooms they're in. How is this useful? No clue. At all (unless you wanna see the fire you cause with cannon spam. Muhahahahaha). But someone'll think of something, right? Maybe parasite crew work slower or something?
