-cannon spread should be lowered(it hits everywhere but where i aim)
-accelerator cannons-launches bullets at break-neck speed tearing through rooms but it implodes when it hits armour or shields
-emp cannons-uses plasma and ammo to disable sheilds for a split second to allow these lo-powerd bullets in
-non agrsive ways to play the game eg.transport trading mining
-ship layers can be used to dock
-more options for png-ship eg. white=corridor black=armor and PickColor1=corridor PickColor2=armor and mahaps some 3 color paint options for 3-bit pixel art=P
-Player chosen default orientation for attack, player chosen default attack range.
-More layers for painting
-some covers for that ugly holes from restricted area to prevent nice looking ship having holes in middle.
-thrusters doing damage if somethings in the restricted area
-being able to place things in the restricted area but it takes damage
-heat resistant armour (can safely be placed in the restricted zone of thrusters)
-bugfix fills don't work horizontally
-can self destruct ship part groups (the ones you make by pressing things like ctrl+1) but not individual parts
-outlines for paint or block draw tool

mystery_player a way to select all like parts

Already exists: Double-click to select all parts of the same type and (in the case of weapons and thrusters) same orientation. Triple-click selects all parts of the same type regardless of orientation.

And about docking: magnet pads and connectable corridors. Magnet pads will have same tiles in front of them, as thrusters and will be able to connect to another magnet pad in front of them, bigger pad=bigger ship connectable. Connectable corridors will be able to connect to other corridors right in front of them, when you click.
