Lab, armor, and small parts!

This update focussed around the scary lab, and armor! Plus added some other small cool stuff!

  • Added the scary lab, wich includes 5 brand new parts! With their own connective walls.
    The lab floor, wich is different from the usual floor.
    The alien tube, where there is an alien hold into it.
    The alien tube 2, where these is a different alien in it.
    The empty alien tube, where nothing is in it.
    And the broken alien tube, where 1 could have escaped!
  • Added 3 new armor shapes!
    Reversed Tri, looks like a full armor block but with a triangle out of it.
    Armor slope, a slope going up.
    Armor curve.
  • Added a 1x1 crew beds. Holds 2 crew, and the beds are on the walls, so only 2 door possibilitys on either side.
  • Added a 1x1 ammo factory. Produces 4 times as little, and only holds 3 ammo. Only 1 door possibility.
  • Added the glass tube corridor. Just a glass tube where crew can walk through.
  • Added 2 vent blocks. So you can make a vent go trough your big ships, looks interesting.
  • Added a chess corridor, where crew could play chess.
  • Added a messy corridor.
  • Fixed 2 namekeys showing wrong names.
  • Removed some sprites from a different project.

This update adds not too many parts, this is more of a bugfix update!

  • Added a new thruster kind! 1x1 variant, looks very unique!
  • Added a 1x1 Ion turbine! Is more powerful and pretty than the normal turbine!
  • Added a 1x2 Gravitational Stabelizer, doesnt do anything, but looks very cool!
  • Added a hidden easter egg, a secret "coconut", if you find it first, you get a special "Insider" rank, and you may enter the secret dev discord of DecoMod to know all the secret plans!
  • Fixed 7 wrongly mirrored parts, so now they mirror correctly!
  • Fixed 2 blueprints!
  • Made the ModDB page up to date, since it was outdated and gets more used then expected.

The progress on the mod shall go faster now since I was working on a side project and released 2 smaller mods.
The coming update shall contain more armor shapes wich was higly desired, and a 1x1 crew bed.

  • Added 6 new colors of lights
    ( Purple, Green, Red, Blue, Pink and light Blue)
  • Added a new structure type called connectors, as seen on the ship above
    (Crew can't walk on them, and there are 4 kinds of them, straight one, turn one, 3 way connection and 4 way connection)
  • Added 2 new solar panels, 3x1 one and a 5x1 one, they generate power, one faster than the other
  • Improved 5 old corridor parts, the sprites are now way better thanks to Stormi_chan
    (If you need sprites, I would recomment her to do it, here is a link to her page: https://forum.cosmoteer.net/d/5596-someone-need-a-spriter/20 )
  • Bugfix: Some parts wouldnt mirror correctly like the cargobay and a handful of corridor parts
  • Bugfix: One way corridor still used the old christmas lights
  • Bugfix: The DecoThrusters hitbox had the wrong size
    (Thank Jbox for finding those bugs)
  • Made a folder called CommonSprites, wich contains a lot of re-used sprites, so now a lot of the corridor parts uses those sprites instead of 100 of the same sprite over and over, wich makes the mod way smaller in size
  • Cleaned the mod library, so now everything is easy to find, and the mod.txt is way more easy to read

  • Added 1x2 and 2x2 deco thrusters!
  • Added the 2x2 cargobay! (Will add different sizes soon!)
  • Added a light you can put on the outside of the ship!
  • Added 2 more flags, and removed the bloodcult flag!
  • Added red carped corridors, your crew walk faster on them, and they look good!
  • Added windows on some of the deco corridors, so you can see them on the outside of the ship
  • Added a turbine block, it gives small amount of thrust, and doesnt have deadzones, and doesnt need power. (Will add different sizes soon!)
  • Added a distract antenna, you can put it on the outside of the ship, and enemy AI will target it above anything else. And it looks cool!
  • Added the DecoMod logo!
  • Improved the modfolder of the mod, it is now more organized.
  • Fixed a bug where it crashed with certain mods.

where's the time machine room?

Coming soon, first I made the basic ones! And time machine room is hard to make....

You should make a Habidome (3x3 with connections on the middle space of each one) that carries 4 extra crew as a bonus) that is full of a 'park' type scene inside. Basically, some grass and paths and a couple of small bushes. Perhaps a Bench that acts as a 'man this station' point that a crewmember will station themselves at. Doesn't do anything, but keeps a guy busy 'sitting down'.

So like, a 3x3 room that adds 4 man on his own, and does nothing but being beautiful? I can do that! I can also create my own crew animation with it

As a similar idea, a 3x4 Mess Hall that has 'busy stations' for sixteen people who would be 'eating'. Just for decoration, of course, but it'd be pretty great. I actually have a fair number of ideas if you're interested in them.

    Well, in that case...

    Cosmetic + Decorative Station Ideas:

    Wide Hallway: A large (2x2) walkway that gives a small (+10%) speed boost to crew in it. Meant for building on large ships where elbow room is appreciated, and is cheaper than coating every square inch of the ships with Moving Walkways, but also less effective.
    Readout Room: A room with several spots for Crew to idle with things printing out and screens galore. Likely a 1x2 room or a 2x3 room (Possibly two versions, for smaller ships and bigger)
    Med Bay: A 3x4 room filled with medical equipment, stasis pods, and two spots for crew to idle (A 'doctor' standing by a bed that has a 'crew member' that's just part of the room on it, and a spot for a single crewmember to wander around like in a normal Bunk room.
    Escape Pod: A modified Armor piece with a small exclusion zone. Each Pod is purely decorative, but requires an open space on one side that has nothing there, and a single door, similar to a Fire Extinguisher.
    Pod Bay: A much larger version of the Escape Pod, this 1x3 piece has an exclusion zone on one of the long sides, and has door slots on the other long side. Functions like a normal 2x1 armor block.
    Observatory: A 3x3 circular room with only one connection point, on one side of it. Room can have up to three people idling in it, and is purely decorative, with very, very low health (it's mostly glass, after all)
    Mesh Structure: An alternate for the normal Structure Blocks, but with a finer grid, such as one might find in fighter craft. Purely decorative, but looks nice.
    Glass Structure: An alternate for the normal Structure Blocks, but made to resemble blocks of glass instead. Purely decorative, but looks nice.
    Response Team Chamber: A 2x3 room with five extinguishers and a powerful speed boosting effect for people in the room (300% or more) for large ship anti-fire safety. Comes with a Smokey the Bear logo on the floor.

    Repair Station: 2x2 room with 4 repair areas that crew can pick up like fire extinguishers to repair damaged parts.

    The Repair Station is an interesting idea... Don't know if it is possible, I will look into it, or else I will just make it decorative

    Wheres the toilet? or at least a waste recycling room. Even if you make your crew use their space suits all the time, they will need to empty the suites storage facility from time to time.

    And now to continue the idea-spewing I participate in!

    Cosmetic + Decorative Station Ideas Pt.2:

    Elethio A 'Waste Compacting Station' as a 2x2 room; Doors only connect on one half of the room, and the other half just has a bunch of garbage in it. Requires power and drains slowly over time (You can use a modified Shield Generator that has a range of 1 for this) and while powered will smash down the trash in it as an animation. Has no actual effect, but will stock up to two crew members to 'man it' while active.
    Sensor Spike: A 1x2 structure with a pair of antennae poking out of the short side (2 blocks long and has that as an Exclusion Zone) Acts as a small Sensor Booster when powered, and uses two crew to operate it.
    Captain's Quarters: An opulent 2x2 single person quarters with lots of nice decorations. 20,000 credits + 1000 for hiring a single crewmember.
    Flagship Command Bridge: A massive 3x4 room (3 tall and 4 wide) that has enhanced sensors and a lot of health, features a 'holo map' with little green and red blips moving on it, and stations for six crew plus a captain's chair. Uses a decent amount of power to keep running, and has high health and penetration resistance.
    SimGames Room: A room full of holographic games tables, with spots for crew to to be 'staffed'. Requires a battery every now and then to keep running.
    Cargo Bay: A 6x8 room with lots of boxes, shelves, crates, etc. Make a few variants of this for different kinds of cargo. Crew can assign to this room, 'taking stock of supplies'.
    Science Lab: Acts as a power storage room, and is 2x3. Lots of scientific doodads, countertops, etc. Make a variant with a dead alien from another game or movie dissected in the middle of it, for those delightful science vessels that inevitably get overrun. Up to two crew can get staffed there, looking over the data.
    Cryosleep Chamber: A large crew chamber, hiring twelve crew for the Cryo Pods set in groups of 3 in each corner of this 3x3 chamber. This room is self-sustaining, and has a 'mini-reactor' in the middle to power itself in emergency situations, and has very, very high health, armor, and penetration resistance, but is very expensive.
    Maintenance Duct: A 1x1 walkway that is darker in color with a grid pattern on the floor, the occasional blinking light, and slows crew using it to half movement, but it cannot catch fire as well as having higher penetration resistance. Useful for emergency corridors, and for blocking stray cannon fire from simply turning your ship into Swiss Cheese.
