Game Exe in stasis

All of sudden when I installed the latest version 0.10.2.... the exe will not open up the game at all.
I'm not sure if its the game or my own computer problem. If you have any idea how, that would be great 😃

If you have a virus scanner, try disabling it or adding Cosmoteer as an exception. I promise it has no viruses. Unfortunately some overzealous virus scanners will block programs they don't recognize even if they don't detect any actual viruses. This has been a problem for a number of players in the past.

I had Cosmoteer for a year.... so of course its already virus block-free, I totally trust it.
I rechecked the anti-V scanner but its still not working.

wondering if there are any game files I could change that will effect how the game launches....

If you have done all the basic checks already then it might be your OS blocking the program's execution for some reason e.g. different account.

I had similar cases with other older programs. However, I never got any messages as to why. It turned out to be a problem with incompatibility because the (dll driver) functions they relied on no longer exist.

You may be right..... I have been doing troubleshoot tests and settings but still nothing.

Can you please post your log file? It also might help to delete your settings file in case something in it is screwed up. If that doesn't work, try reinstalling.

I'm also curious if installing an older version still works for you.

Already tried reinstalling in certain ways.... and I wish I knew how to locate any log files lol.
Ill keep trying dissecting the game file more.

It has to be something with the exe..... I've downloaded version 0.8.11 ( Last of 8 series) and a few other versions below it, and it worked without any changes needed.
Also tried 0.9.0 ( beginning of the 9 series) and multiple other versions above it, but still have that problem.
-Seemingly any versions below 0.9.0 works well.- -Any versions above 0.8.11 have the problem.- -I've tired combining the two differences with the files.... and the 0.8.11 and below versions launcher Exe showed results. (The loading screen showed but then reports an error)- -I looked into the 0.9.0 and above versions's Exe file with txt.... First line said something about "cannot run with Dos mode".- -weird thing is... a week ago when I got the 0.9.15 I think?,.... It worked well until a few days past and stopped working.-

Conclusions: I think the Exe needs a reconfigure like the older versions I stated above (and mybe a few other files I don't know about yet). Seemingly I'm the only one with this problem,.... might need to fix this manually.

users/accountname/Appdata/Roaming/Cosmoteer/ etc.

"cannot run with Dos mode" has been introduced since windows came to be.

I think you should check your graphic drivers. Sometimes windows messes up graphic settings for some reason. A restart might fix it. I had a severe case with my old computer and couldn't fix at all even after reinstalling windows, graphic drivers and all. Certain 3D features just went away one day. I suspect window's updates but can't be sure.

Thx for the location.... I'll try looking into my comp about the drives and mybe I can change the "Dos" mode aswell.

Good news...... I'm just an idiot. When Walt mentioned about the logs, and I asked for the location.... I relized that mybe the appdata for the game was still there soon as I saw "version 0.10.2". Pretty much mybe the previous installation of 0.10.2 I've tried and deleted to try reinstalling, left the app data behind.... and any other versions installed related to the newer version histories would get blocked or fuse their appdata together by mistake.
(this also could've happened because of a windows update I just had like hours ago, rather being a simple install/game file malfunction lol)

Knowing probably it was corrupted.... I deleted it then reinstall 0.10.2..... BOOM.... up side the head.

If you want to install the the game then you must check your directory and install latest version of it, after doing this you did not install the game then you have missing some file, download missing file and I am sure you get successfully install this game.
