ALPHA CONUSS X
"What's That Ship?! Send clearance codes now, whoever is onboard!" Said an officer onboard the M.O.C. This ship seemed oddly familiar, but it was clearly a scrapped design.
"Transmission Complete." The computer read. The Officer was still nervous.
"Prepare a guard crew on the clamps. The ship seems too odd for comfort. They may be pirates."
The officer was replied to quickly: "SIR! That's a collector! That design is scrapped! Those must be pirates!"
...
They Weren't Pirates.
That was the last transmission from the mining colony. Upon scanner analysis, there were more, odd ships hiding behind asteroids. Surgeon Research Didn't know what to make of this. The other ships looked like needles, except for one strange, barely visible Nanovore 1.
SIGMA NVACTO I
"Scanners pick up a fleet of ships. Old friend, do you know these?" Said the leader of the Zenioth, to the captain- Discussing what exactly the Zenioth exploration probe was seeing. It was this:
"What the HECK are those?!" The captain replied. He noticed how the ships were connected to the Alpha Conuss X incident. He was concerned. "Old friend, report news to Cross Mining Cooperation at once. These ships may be related to related to a recent tragedy."
Shortly after, Surgeon research, The Zenioth, The Captain, and Cross Mining Co. Were all at one meeting...
PHI FALURAUDO
So there everybody was. In a desperate meeting, trying to figure out what happened. Everybody passed ideas around the table, until somebody stormed in. Everybody was shocked. The captain pulled out a blaster to defend himself. "Gentlemen, Please. I'm only here for the discussion." "Like I'd trust the ruler of the Carnivore fleet." Responded the captain. "Ahem. I've been losing a lot of ships. IMPORTANT ONES. Funny enough, those people who manage the Nanovore fleet have been reporting the same." Weirdly enough, the Zenioth leader was actually open to the man, simply saying: "Well then. Take a seat." Now, Frankly, everybody at the table, except the Zenioth, Hated the Nanovore fleet and the Carnivore fleet. But this seemed like a pretty big issue.
Two Hours Later, A Surgeon Research representative finally found the square root of the problem. The result was terrifying. "And we already have so many issues in the universe..." Said the captain. The race was simply named the Corruption, and they were giving almost every race in the galaxy a varying amount of trouble. Everybody realized if the corruption got to the milky way... Chaos would ensue. Math estimates suggest Alpha Station was taken down in only about 10 Minutes. Not a single survivor. The ship that was so primary was the "Corruptor Needle" That could corrupt ships completely upon self-destruction. This meant that their numbers could grow like wildfire, and they cannot be stopped until every last needle was destroyed. But, everybody would happily take the challenge- Carefully. They moved in for the battle of a lifetime... Again. Everybody was set for Sigma Nvacto I.
THE BATTLE BEGINS
Every ship went out of FTL speed. They already realized that they must play siege- Even the Probes were not immune to being Corrupted, so The Zenioth leader ordered them off. This also happened with almost the whole fleet, meaning that the numbers may have already been telling who would win already at the Get-Go.
The Captain took a deep breath. "Alright sir. Why didn't you bring Alpha?" The Man replied: "It's my best interest to leave her in shape. To those that live, I'll pardon you for a month. Got it?"
They moved their forces in.
The first shots rang out. A Hypervelocity Plasma launcher chipped away at a corrupted Delta class. Of course, that wasn't enough damage to disturb it. However, the Captain and his trademark Twincruiser began to quickly shred the enemy to pieces. He also began to attack a corruptor spike. More fire traded with the Delta. An Iuun Gallat got in on the action.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the battlefield, the Sinbreaker made it's approach. However, outnumbered and outgunned, the Zenioth leader grew worried for his life, as well as his fellow crew members. If he was human, he'd be sweating buckets. The Corrupted Exploration probe began to eat away at the prized battleship. Although the captain got wind of what was happening, he didn't know if he'd make it in time. Missiles finally began to pelt the Sinbreaker...
The Zenioth leader said: "May Tutasara have mercy."
He pick great last words.
"NO!" The Captain yelled out in fury. He watched his friend, the leader of the Zenioth, Go out in a glorious blaze. Just like Tutasara, The Sinbreaker falls from a being who used to be an ally. It's ironic, isn't it?
Another explosion rippled the Sinbreaker, which was now a destroyed ship. The captain was swept by hatred, trying to make his ship go faster. Finally, The Sinbreaker Exploded completely. Nothing but space dust was left of the heart of Zenioth fleet...
The Corrupted ships were too armoured to be taken down easily. Numbers were being shredded. There were only about two corrupted ships lost at the rate. The Zenioth were fazed and horrified, but then flew their Monoquad fighters with nothing to lose. Then, Everybody turned their eyes to the ships that had weapons- They realized they could deal with the Needles later.
Meanwhile, the Twincruiser finally pulled up to the Corrupted probe. The captain unleashed his boundless fury like an angry Giganotosaurus. He got his revenge quite well- The Murderer of the Captain's best friend exploded into space dust as well. The Twincruiser was finished with executing the captain's vengeance. It moved on to fight more. Carnivore Crusher Class Cruisers moved in for the kill with fatal finesse. Suddenly three ships shifted focus to the Twincruiser. The captain readied his ship to return fire. The Twincruiser was shredding them one by one... Until his ammo stocks were running dry. Now he was the one receiving punishment. Everybody moved in to save their only other capital ship. The captain demanded the crew to move to the other broadside lest they all want to get killed.
Fortunately the captain and his crew got it to the other, fully stocked broadside, and allied ships were moving in to help.
More enemies were being reduced to space dust. It was glorious.
Suddenly the captain lost a portion of the left side of the ship. There were so many Ion beams going off. The captain JUST saved his life from a chain reaction when he destroyed a Corrupted Nanovore one's Ion beam emitter- Frying away at one of his rather explosive cannon shell stocks. The allies were now balancing on the blade of a knife, even If they had the advantage.
There was a ton of space junk covering the battlefield, And most of it was fleshy- The Corrupted were finally losing big time. The Needles prepared an FTL jump and escaped, but there was no denying that the allies won the battle. The last Nanovore flew seldom knowing it's days were numbered. Finally, The battle of Sigma Nvacto I was over.
AFTERMATH
Days after the battle, the Zenioth survivors branched off from their species... Creating a new, more militarized, mysterious sub faction. The Captain just couldn't forgive himself for letting a friend die and messing up an entire species. The ruler saved him, but He couldn't repay his debt. He knew he would have never made it in time, but he still felt guilty. Not to mention the new, developing sub faction hated the captain quite well framing him responsible for the ruler's death, while the original Zenioth understood the ordeal, and forgave the captain. On the bright side, Cross mining co. Enjoyed having two less issues to deal with for a whole month, and their staff cheered in excitement about it.
But... Although the allies won the battle, the Corruption was winning the war... Every needle is basically a new enemy after all.
