I get a little bored seeing the game in 2d with alot of great 3d games so i recommend making some kind of 3d view

3d especially since the grid is 2d would 1 look meh and 2 be an absolute pain to make this is a free game, not a high budget one.

Z levels would be cool, But that might melt CPU's and make the game very complex. (Z levels as in layers kinda like Dwarf Fortress or Cataclysm dda)
Z levels will not be added in the coming months/years, or maybe not at all

I would prefer if you did not tag Walt he will look at this when he gets time. 3D will not be added anywhere in the future. When you build a 2D game it's for a reason, for it to be 2D. It's a lot of work to get a 3D game looking good and working and so I'm very sure Walt will not do 3D. Almost everything in the game would have to be done again. making it 3 d would make just like all the other games. if it stays 2d it would be kinda unique.
We are making 2D ships. If we see a 2D ship in 3D it will look flat. 😃
