This ship even has a theme song?!!

How to get Yamato ship in your game

  1. Right-click on the image of the ship and select "Save image as".
    enter image description here
  2. Save the image into your Saved Ships directory.
    Documents\My Games\Cosmoteer\Saved Ships
Make sure you save it with a .ship.png extension; if it's just .png then Cosmoteer won't load it. For example, save the image as Space battleship Yamato.ship.png
  3. The ship will now be available under "My Ships" in Creative Mode or to purchase in Standard Mode.
clojelo changed the title to Space Battleship Yamato (no mods).

    I applaud this mod.
Anyone who recognizes the origin of my forum avatar will surely know why.
    😉

clojelo Very, very, very impressive. I have not seen many people do side views of the ships. I am a huge fan of World Of Warships, I use to watch a ton of videos and the beautiful Yamato always showed up! Great work!

clojelo Spawned it in game. I hadn't quite realized the detail, sensor near com/sensor tower, each weapon representing a counterpart on SBY, crew locations. Wow. Awesome build.

Nothing stays hidden from the master builder.
It is an honor to have your comment.

You're too kind sir and your Yamato is way too cool to modify.

I'm glad I came across this digging in the forums. I'm a huge fan of Space Battleship Yamato and this ship is basically the perfect Cosmoteer version. Really cool design, and man the theme song gets me every time.

Cosmic_Horror and this ship is basically the perfect Cosmoteer version.

        There is room for improvement.

Yamato battleship was known for its all-out front-facing firepower. The reference model shows 6 + 3 front-facing cannons and 3 + 3 rear cannons.

i could not factor all in effectively within vanilla 100-slot width.
Yamato captain's probably sneering at the blueprint from somewhere.

I think if you wanted to get it really spot on you'd have to make it larger, make it too big though and the cannons will start to look small. I think it already looks sweet . It might be cool to put an ion beam in the nose of the ship to represent the wave motion gun, ion beams do kinda stick out though.

clojelo So I was musing and I came up with an idea for the cannon problem. To make everything to scale you could put cannons (functioning ones) at the tips of cannons built out of armor. It's kinda hard to explain so I whipped this up as an example. It's not perfect but try and picture it as two of the Yamato's large forward facing guns.

It's a little cheesy but I think it works, you could use heavy cannons for the larger guns to and I think it'd look even better.

Side-View ship in a top-down game... Makes Sense!

This ship is tiny.. why are you not complaining?

Iantech The better question is. Why would I be complaining?
