Hodyn Exodia's issue is that as a long plank it's turning is bad, which is exactly why my Fool's Gambit is designed to split apart into individual ships that have much greater mobility to get around it.
Also in a straight out 2v1 Shredders vs Exodia, Exodia would win (I think) due to being combined, as a combined ship concentrates its firepower while two ships might pick two separate targets, thus taking longer to kill or punch through. Exodia also sort of uses AI targeting (unintentionally?) with its electrobolts as AI really loves to shoot at each individual one then swap to another one elsewhere, giving the downed shields time to regenerate, making it a lot tougher than it looks. I had to increase the amount of cannons just to punch through (sometimes) and take out the shield gen with the volley just to get around that.
I'll take a look at Exodia Prime, it being a longer version of Exodia makes me suspect that half of my Fool's Gambit should be able to take it on comfortably, but I'll need to strip down the individual Shredders by a bit to make the cost limit.
Nevermind, I decided to try it out rightaway and yup, it seems to work.
Who needs fire extinguishers and PD anyway :p
Further tests shows a rough 50/50 on who wins, as the Fool's Gamble needs one Shredder to get behind, or win in the initial volley, but Exodia Prime has the upper hand in terms of concentrated firepower. I really should redo the Shredders to optimise them sometime...
