How would one feel when he came back after a while and see the remains of the ones he cared about?
Thats exactly what Gillian is feeling right now, after Mainframe showing him a particular site, that mixed feeling of depression and frustration, he knows why Mainframe showed him that, but his emotional self insists on dangling above the self-destructive spiral of depression and frustration, waiting on any opportunity for his rationality to give up.
"Sigh..."
Surely maintaining such a stalemate isn't a good idea. Gil put power on his waist, trying to get up, before once again collapsing on his bed, for the 15th time already, but this time, finally something had changed.
"This is Chesed, are you alright in there? Mainframe told us to check on you."
A recognizable feminine voice over from the doorway, which Gillian instinctively responded, albeit weakly.
"...I told you your name is Umbra, don't get bounded by your role."
Strangely enough, correcting others seems to generate just enough strength for Gillian to gain back control over himself, as he walks out of his bed and opens the door, coming face to face with Umbra/Chesed, a blue slime the size and shape of a standard female human, with just a bit transparent here and there.
"Ah, Victor told me this would work, so..."
"Huh...well no need to apologize, to be fair you can use either name as your likings, it's more of a personal reason to give your two another, more privatized name so I would treat you two as brethrens instead of just items."
"Victor told me that as well, and that's why, as he say, "It would work like a charm."
"Heh... well whatcha got here? surely Mainframe got something else "
"Nothing really...ah, right, the report for the weapon testings, Dasha wants to hear about ideas for improvements."
"Oh..."*
Gil looks back into his room, which is in a complete mess."
"Tell her I'll be there in an hour or so."
"Aye, ring the bell if you need me for anything else."
