Hi! This is my first time that I publish a mod for a game I hope you will enjoy it!
Also note that english isn't my main language, this will explain some grammar errors...
Also I love feedbacks and suggestions, feels free to post them!
Old picture (I added new item and changed batteries graphics)

This mod add several and "random" things. I add things that I think they would be a good addition to the game.

Download Link Last Version: 0.4.0 (13/8/17)
Doesn't work download link? Alternative Link
Click in the folder "Infinity", there you wouldd find my mod in different versions.
If don't want to be outdated you have always to download the last version.

Note:
- Ammo means amunition, energy storage, etc.
- 1000 ammo (talking about energy) is equal to 1 plasma battery pack.
- UIStats: they are the amount of power or crew recommend to use... you can see this value when building.
- Consumption/Production: they are two values, the first is the amount of "ammo" (generally energy) consumed/produced per the second number. 100 | 0.5 = each 0.5 seconds it's consumed/produced 100 of ammo (or 200 per second).
- AIValue: is the priority of the enemy AI in destroy that block. E.g: a reactor is more important than a bunk.
- Block: sometimes I called block the ship parts, sorry.

Bugs:

  • Power Storage 1x2: The red alert (without energy) doesn't seems like a circule.

Future Additions:
- Recibe Feedbacks and Improve Balance.
- Power Storage 2x3.
- Regenerative Armor with more shapes!
- Add more shield generators with differents radius and arcs.
- FTL Fuel Storage.
- Mini laser and ion beam.
- Drones?
- Aegis Shield (can't be recharged with batteries, it recharge itself at slow rate).
- Solar Panels.

Feedback:

  1. What do you think about the graphics?
  2. What do you think about the regenerative armor? More or less HP? Faster or slower regen? More or less cost?
  3. What do you think about the Crew and Power UIStats? Shall I change them?
  4. Do you like the name "Infinity"? Any suggestion?

I hope you like my mod! Also If you want an especial version without a particular block that you don't like or with some tweaked values and you don't know how to do that I can make help you.

i downloaded the mod but', do i need to open the v0.01 of the mod?

    This mod doesn't work for me, FeelsBadMan

    Nice mod but the energy from the bubble shields run out to quickly. Maybe add regenerative armor wedge.

    Maybe add freeze guns (it freezes whatever it hits, if it hits armor than the armor can get destroyed in 1 hit) , burn guns (sets parts on fire) and maybe guns that shoot little bacteria that does small damage but stays on the ship after a battle and can multiply, and you need special things like the fire extinguisher but instead the crew uses it to remove the bacteria.

    This is probably the best mod to this game that is still balanced and I love it lol
    Bubble shields should be more expensive compared to the regular shield because you are getting full coverage vs only 90 degrees of coverage. either make them slightly more expensive or make them drain slightly more power (unless you've already done that in your calculations)
    For the power stoarage the small one should just hold 4000 power, but cost 600 instead of 500. the small ones should also have slightly more power (8000) and cost 1200 to account for it
    Those bubble shield radius' are really large which may make people think they're super powerful as well, so maybe reduce the radius' of all bubble shields? after all the vanilla shield has a radius of 7.5, so 30 radius even for a large oneis a little but much but thats just me.
    All of that is just balancing stuff but I still really like this mod its almost perfect 🙂

    CrazyBoyMathias

    Nice mod

    Thanks!

    but the energy from the bubble shields run out to quickly

    Ok. How do you think I shall do to fix this?

    1. Increase the inner energy storage: this would increase the "shield HP" and the amount of time the shield can work without deplete batteries.
    2. Reduce passive energy consumption: this would reduce the amount of crew needed to "reload" the energy in "peace time" (No fight). Also would increase the duration of batteries.
    3. Increase shield efficiency: this would increase the amount of damage the shield can absorb using the same amount of power than before, useful to increase the "shield HP" and reduce the crew used to the block in "war time" (fighting).

    Maybe add regenerative armor wedge.

    I know, this is in my future additions list.

    Jakeblake

    Sorry for my long answer.

    This is probably the best mod to this game that is still balanced and I love it lol

    Thanks you! I love balanced stuff, I tried to make the mod the most mathematical possible precise.

    Bubble shields should be more expensive compared to the regular shield because you are getting full coverage vs only 90 degrees of coverage. either make them slightly more expensive or make them drain slightly more power (unless you've already done that in your calculations)

    My bubble shield cost the same as vanilla shield by amount of blocks and has a little "tax" for been bubbles, I mean:

    • Vanilla: $5,000 / (2x3 "blocks") = $833.33 per block.
    • Mini: (1x1) * $833.33 = $833.33 --> This is better ---> $1,000 (+16.66%)
    • Small: (2x2) * $833.33 = $3,333.32 --> This is better --> $4,000 (+16.66%)
    • Medium: (3x3) * $833.33 = $7,499.97 --> This is better --> $8,000 (+6.25%... maybe I should increase this.)
    • Large: (4x4) * $833.33 = $13,333.28 ---> This is better --> $17,500 (+23,80%... maybe I should decrease this.
      )

    Shall I use the perimeter of the shield in my calculations...?

    • Vanilla: $5,000 / ((7.5 radius 2 Pi * Arc) / 360) = $424.41 per "unit" (cm? m?) of perimeter.
    • Mini: (5 2Pi) $424.41 = $13,333.33 # Arc is 360 so we can make this easier
    • Small: (10 2Pi) $424.41 = $26,666.66
    • Medium: (18 2Pi) $424.41 = $48,000
    • Large: (30 2Pi) $424.41 = $80,000

    mmm, that is quite... expensive. Maybe I can reduce the shield's radius to reduce the price also.

    Or shall I use the price per unit of radius?:

    • Vainilla: $5,000 / 7.5 = $666,66 devil...
    • Mini: 5 * $666,66 $3,333.33
    • Small: 10 * $666.66 = $6,666.66
    • Medium: 18 * $666.66 = $12,000
    • Large: 30 * $666.66 = $20,000

    This seems quite good, maybe they can be an x% more expensive because they have a bubble shield.
    Or if you want you can give me a suggestion with your price ideas, I don't have any problem, in life nothing is 100% math.

    For the power stoarage the small one should just hold 4000 power, but cost 600 instead of 500. the small ones should also have slightly more power (8000) and cost 1200 to account for it

    This are my actual calculations:

    • Vanilla: $2,000 / (2x2) = $500 per block | 15.000 / (2x2) = 3,750 energy per block or 15.000 / $2,000 = 7.5 energy per dollar.
    • 1x1: (1x1) $500 = $500 | (1x1) 3,750 = 3,750 EU (energy units)
    • 2x2: (1x2) $500 = $1,000 | (1x2) 3,750 = 7,500 EU

    Using your values I can do:

    • Use your cost and storage.
    • Use your storage and calculate my cost.
      • Also increase an x% the cost because it's more efficient than normal storages.

    With my calculations and your storage it can be:

    • 1x1: 4,000 / 7,5 = $533.33 * (1 + x%) if I put your value (600) ---> +11.11% because it's more efficient.
    • 1x2: 8,000 / 7,5 = $1066.66 * (1 + x%) if I put your value (1,200) ---> +11.11% because it's more efficient.

    What you say: math values (my) or math values + you 11.11% because it's more efficient (your)? Mmm, now thinking about this I am quite interested in your prices...

    Those bubble shield radius' are really large which may make people think they're super powerful as well, so maybe reduce the radius' of all bubble shields? after all the vanilla shield has a radius of 7.5, so 30 radius even for a large oneis a little but much but thats just me.

    Yeah, you have right.
    What do you think about my new calculations?

    Vanilla: 7.5 radius / (2x3) = 1.25 radius unit per block.
    Mini: (1x1) 1.25 = 1.25 # This obviously need some upgrade... or delete.
    Small: (2x2)
    1.25 = 5
    Medium: (3x3) 1.25 = 11.25
    Large: (4x4)
    1.25 = 20

    If I do this maybe I shall increase a little the efficiency of energy consumed per unit of damage (actually my shield are very inefficient in that).

    TheAwesomeDog86
    Oh, that is a pity. Do you have some crash report or something I can check?

      zergRush99
      You have always to download my last version (the bigger number). Also I say the version next to the download link.

        Enderlook First of all, I love how you actually do the balancing calculations when you do this and this is what I do as well when I make my own mods (personal mods, sorry)
        Ok the bubble shields already have a tax so those prices are perfect.
        Doing it by perimeter isnt a good idea because usually you are only attacked by a certain angle, so technically you won't need all 360 degrees in a given battle. Those prices are really expensive, as you only need to add a small tax for having the 360 degrees instead of 90 degrees.
        Honestly, you can't price something based solely on 1 stat, you have to factor in all of the stats like health, range, degrees, etc so your current values are probably fine, maybe increase the cost of the medium shield by 1 or 2 thousand and decrease the large shields cost by 1.5 thousand.

        For the energy storages I did a little calculation myself to get those values (extra cost for being more efficient) so I like my values lol

        For the bubble shields, probably not by the size of the block... it should be flattened out so that the small have a larger radius than 'balanced' and the large ones should have a smaller radius than 'balanced. So the small should have a radius of 3.5 (enough to fit a small laser into), small should have 5 or 5.5, medium 9-12, large 20-25

        btw you're already my favorite modder 🙂 (sorry Bubbet)

          Jakeblake
          I am so glad that you enjoy my mod and I'll try to improve it more!

          I know that a price can't be based only in one stat but I am not sure how to calculate the price using two or more stats, I am not sure how much should each stat influence in the price. I hope this could be countermeasured changed other values, like the passive power consumption (that also has a small tax) and the energy to damage conversion that it's quite inefficient. Also I think it's quite balanced because the shield cover 4 times more range (360 / 90 = 4) but it has the same power storage per block and even less efficiency (I think I'll check that) so his defensive values are quite low compared to the normal shield (I use them to defend me of secondary damage or lost shots, not the main enemy weaponery).

          You said that medium shield could cost $1K ($9,000) - $2K ($10,000) more. I like the idea, especially the +$1K because it's exactly an increase of the +16.66% like the other shields. Shall I increase a bit more or it's okey for you?
          Also you said about large shield could cost $1.5K less. I really like the idea, $17,500 - $1,500 = $16,000, the exactly amount of an +16.66% increment! I am so happy tha you made the calculations also.

          Energy storages: great! I will tweak them! Also note that the new graphic (now storage one battery more) I will made after.

          About your last paragraph I found that a very interesting option. Right now I don't have time to check them but tomorrow I'll fix them.

          Note: New version has been already uploaded to the google drive. It fix power storage stats.

            Enderlook

            Special thanks to Jakeblake for his useful feedback!

            PS: Do you have any issue? Please explain me what is your problem and if it has an crash report please give me that and also your mod list.

            Enderlook
            Version 0.2.3 has arrived! (Download link above in the first post)
            Fixed:

            • Regenerative Armor (1x1):
              • The re-work version of the armor produced a crash after build a ship with at least one regenerative armor and a crew module.

            I like these kind of mods. Not too crowded and requirement stacking is kept to a minimum, and adds new and cool stuff to Cosmoteer that is intresting in the long run! <3 Like the mod

            Enderlook i think the first one

              Jakeblake why should it drain more power?? almost al of my bubble shields are red because it drains the energy to fast and i have a reactor and crewcabine next to it.
