It's been a long time, almost a year, but we are getting there, I just need to add a few features to the apex node, check the balance, and do a last bug hunt before releasing the 1.3.1.
The good thing is that I already tried several ideas for a BH pack, so I will be able to release the first version of BH pack as soon as I get enough ships to add.
The BH pack will be 2 mods, one that modify the galaxy generation (different colors on the galaxy map, different backgrounds, new planets, etc...) and one that add the ships and the new difficulties for BH.
I figured it would be easier to maintain separate mods than a big all in one, and you won't have to redownload everything each time new ships are added.
(I wanted to discuss that point but after thinking about it, I didn't find any plus about making a all in one mod other than having only one mod to activate, so I guess I'll stick to the separate mod idea that will also help in case of incompatibility with other mods)
Now, the main point of this post : The ships submission system
I'll open a forum post for submitting ships once the 1.3.1 is released with all the new parts are balanced and bug free.
But I want only quality ships to be added, so we need to agree on some rules before.
The first rule would be no offensive names nor unnamed ships, I think everyone agree with this one.
The next rule would be that the ship can be fully loaded with auto++ and no other mods, but should we allow vanilla ships to be added? and what about illegal ships ?
Another rule would require ships to be painted, but what would be the quality of the paint required?
And there would be a rule to ensure the added ships are strong enough. I'm thinking about requiring each ship to be able to defeat a vanilla ship of similar cost in a 1v1 AI fight, but depending of the ships picked the result could vary a lot (the Tolvyre is more expensive than the Disciple of Shrieks, yet the later is way stronger)
