Requests for minimum range for weapons have been going on for a very long time but still don't exist yet. Althought, this case is similar I believe even if the feature exists the problem would still remain. So I'm asking for this specific separate option in DeathByEnemyProximity. I presume here that the minimum distance feature would work on the emitter or weapon firing mechanism, hence, is separate from the shot. The minimum range setting still being in the shot because weapons could switch to different shots.
The case at hand is: having the shot die and do something at a set range to the target by using Range in DeathByEnemyProximity. The problem is even with a set SourceShipCollisionDelay the shot still dies prematurely inside the firing ship if the target is within the range set in DeathByEnemyProximity.
Having the function tied to SourceShipCollisionDelay in Hit might be undesired since it's a hard setting based on time.
While an option in DeathByEnemyProximity would be more desired if it exactly comes into effect once the shot has passed the firing ship.
