I want there to be a setting in both creative mode and MP to make the whole world/battlefield "move"
EX: if you see it to 50m/s, the game will give all ships a sort of drag in that direction (space wind) until they are moving in X direction at 50m/s
This will add a sort of gravity to battles with a lot of fun potential

The first notable cause is that omnidirectional thrust would become very important, being a railfan with only two ways of thrust can send you plummeting down into the Ring Of Death!

This can also be used as a strategy to hurt the opponent

Another fun aspect would be ship debris, parts of a ship shot lose would fall, which would look cool!

This could even be used for more interesting aspects such as procedurally generating asteroid fields that have to be dodged and avoided

Not to mention mines!

I have used mods to set up similar scenarios with friends to fight them in and they are interesting, I would really like if this were an actual mechanic due to how fun/interesting it is.

I wish there were also an actual directional acceleration instead of unconsistent space drag as it has some problems such as ship weight affecting how easily it gets affected and bullets just going onto a straight line but plane of reference is moving at static speed, instead of accelerating and actually arching like in constant acceleration situations

A unique idea! Having everything move in space opens up new gameplay options and challenges, just like you explained! I don’t think it really fits the vacuum of space, but this could work really well in nebulas! They’d have an “atmosphere” that could, potentially, have currents that push ships around!

janiTNT Yeah, with the drag this really feels like it should ditch the space theme and make a game about steam powered ironclads.

bibletech55 I haven't thought about the "movement" being in the campaign, your post gives a ton of interesting ideas that it could use.

This made me think of a few objectives/missions using it such as:
Protect a "flying" station from an approaching mine field
Stop a nebula gas refinery with malfunctioning engines from falling into the sun
Cause the flying pirate base to "fall" out of the nebula without destroying it
Rescue science vessel trapped in heavy nebula "wind"

The outside possibilities in many of the gamemodes are really cool.
